Hey now - you're attributing a quote to me that I didn't write! |

Nope, it's the Golders Green BBC recording (shown last year on BBC4) to my ears. |

I'm wandering off-topic here, but please bear with me.
What exactly is "golders green?"
I know that is the same of the CD of demos by Pete Ham that was released a few years ago, and considering they were mostly recorded when the band was poor and starting out, I assumed that it referred to a residential area where things aren't too expensive.
And that doesn't exactly jibe with a BBC-recorded-for-television show of a Hollies concert from the same location.
So please, what is Golders Green, where is it, and can anyone tell me anything about it? |

James, Youīre absolutely right, itīs from Golders Green! Iīve listened to the three recordings I got (In a spin, the dvd from GG and the Magic Records He ainīt heavy) and the the recordings are identical. F.e. thereīs a little laugh in the middle of the recordings and the time are 1,31 for all of them.
Can we agree on Tom Paxton as the real composer, or..? |
