Interesting track list, I have most of these on other discs however. I wonder if Oh! Granny will be the authentic version with Sylvester on lead vox and acoustic rythmn or if it will be the version with Clarke sans acoustic as (erroneously) featured on the A&B's 1970 - 1979 by EMI over a decade ago?

I've always liked "Oh Granny". The alternate version with Clarke is an ear-opener for sure; his vocal is superb. |

Makes one wonder how many other alternate versions of songs there are left unreleased. Somebody needs to do some digging in the vaults. |

I really like both versions of the song, although the acoustic guitar adds a little bit more to the instrumentation on the Sylvester-sung version. Interestingly, did they add Clarke's vocal at a later date, or wipe his lead vocal off to leave Terry singing? |

My understanding is that Clarke sang on the original recording session.
After he split, the band didn't want to release stuff with Allan's vocal, so they wiped it and Terry sang lead while keeping the same basic backing track.
Of course, I could be wrong!
I agree that that, for fanatic completists, it would be better for this release to have the Sylvester vocal.
And although it surely won't happen, they should also include the version of the Italian single that was released without backing vocals, unlike the way it came out in the UK with the full harmonies. I'm thinking that the song I mean is We're Alive, although my memory of it is hazy.
And if we're talking about unreleased stuff that are complete performances, why not finally give us Stormy Waters without the harmonies?
Anyway, I'm thrilled to see this release come out, and I'll be ordering it directly from Magic in the near future. |

I think you are probably correct Sparty - this sounds the most logical way of working. |
