Following on from the news that The Hollies have agreed a CD deal with EMI, I have today heard 5 new songs destined for the new release.
Although not quite yet the finished versions, the quality of the sound and of the songs is extremely good and I am looking forward to hearing more in the future.
The band are working in the studio to complete these five and will then begin work on the remainder for the album.
Keep looking out for more news as it is released. |

Rob - THIS IS TERRIFIC NEWS!!! Does the band have working titles for these new tracks? If so, are you at liberty to post them here on the website? Furthermore, can you mention whether they are of an uptempo or ballad nature? |

Yes, there are titles but they are all NEW songs not performed before. More details will be available in the near future.
The songs I listened to are all uptempo and modern but the album will obviously also include slower ballads too. |

Are The Hollies themselves writing? Is Tony writing again?
Great news.

Sound really really great!
I've got the same question as Micheal... I'd like to know if the songs are selfwritten or if not you maybe know if they plan to add selfwritten songs to the album.
And are they uptempo pop songs or do some of them have a rock feel to them? |

Rob - Has there been any talk about having guest singers add their voices to the new CD? I realize the Hollies have no need for extra vocals but it would be very special if for example, Allan Clarke or Cliff Richards got involved in some manner. It could also help to heighten interest in the CD prior to it's release. |

A guest appearance of Allan Clarke would be fantastic... but I don't think they'll do it. |

Of course not.
This is a new album by The Hollies as they are now in 2005 and as you say, they have no need for more vocals. |

Hi Rob,
apart from my question if the songs are selfwritten I would like to know if they record at Abbey Road Studios again or if they use a different studio. Would be cool if they'd record at Abbey Road. |

At the moment, the songs are being worked at in an independant studio but that does not mean that Abbey Road will not be used in the future.
The music industry has changed so much over the last 25 years or so and much can be done in preliminary work before a final track is laid down. |

No, I am not at liberty to say too much at the moment but hopefully I may have the titles soon.
As I said earlier, the songs that I have heard are all good, modern and completely new and the sound of The Hollies - 2005 and onwards.
Each evolution of the band has produced a different sound and this line-up is no different.
If anyone wants to hear them with the sound from earlier years or with Allan Clarke, I am certain they will have records to listen to. |
