I totally agree Peej! As an example, if a Hollies calendar was available at their concerts I'm sure fans would buy it. Besides, of all those attending a Hollies concert, I'm sure not everyone owns a computer or has even accessed this website.

Gordon, I think you mean 88. Your maths are not your strong point are they Laughing

Of the twelve votes, two of them are from me and my family

I am not just talking about the members here. I know what stock was ordered last year, what sold and what didn't and what fans will pay for items.

If you don't count the Greatest Hits CD the highest number of any one item sold from the last lot of merchandise is 219, and that is for the cheapest item, the key fobs.

That includes sales over two tours and from the internet. Not exactly staggering figures are they.

In order to be able to sell at reasonable prices, items have to be purchased in large numbers.

The actual time and effort involved in merchandising has to be worthwhile doing it overall.

Thanks to those who gave some good input to this topic. I am putting together a package to see if merchandise will continue for the next tour.

Hi Rob,
Well you must be right if you have the numbers, I thought the Polo top was great value, I wear mine from time to time.
I would love to see a Hollies tour t shirt with all the Aussie dates on the back.
People are funny they say we want murchandise then when it's there don't bother.

Great suggestion Anthony, a Hollies t-shirt with all the Aussie tour dates would be fabulous. The dates could be on the back of the shirt with a nice photo of the guys on the front.

Hi Anthony and Susie

If there was an Aussie Tour t-shirt, you may find there are only 3 lines. Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane or Gold Coast. But if it included New Zealand that would be different. (New Zealanders don't like being called Australians).

Hi Kathy Exclamation

You have a very good point there, but you never know when the Hollies come to Australia they might do an extended tour and visit Adelaide, Perth and Hobart as well as Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane/Gold Coast which will make 6 lines on the tour T-Shirt.

All The Best

Hi Kathy and Susie,
Maybe they could call it the downunder tour to cover all the countries in this part of the world. I wonder if they will visit Tasmania.

Hi Anthony Exclamation

The T-shirt could read The Hollies Australasian tour 2005 and then have the tour dates underneath it and include any New Zealand Dates as well. By the way in my previous post I missed one capital city, Darwin.

I haven't watched this forum for a while, so I missed this topic. I voted immediately so it's almost 13 % now Wink

If I would visit a concert I would definitely buy all merchandise there is. Unfortunately I do no visit as the Hollies do not come to Holland Crying or Very sad

Mailorder is too much hassel I guess.

Maybe you should base your decision on sales/demands at concerts. I have heard that selling merchandise at concerts is very important additional income for some artists.

Robert

Ordering by mail is very simple. Just let me know what you want and I'll parcel it up and let you know how much to send - you can pay in Euros, US$ or £sterling. Take a look at the merchandise page.

Hi All,

As usual, I'm replying months after everyone else Embarassed
I am one who would have surely voted but didn't Exclamation One of my greatest disappointments Crying or Very sad at my Hollies concert (besides not meeting the Hollies Wink ) was the lack of merchandise. Mad I came prepared to buy, and there was nothing, not a thing for sale. Evil or Very Mad Thank goodness for Rob, I sent my dollars across the pond and he sent my things to me. The Polo, is wonderful, the tour book is too, and I enjoyed everything else as well. The Hollies pen is carefully guarded so someone doesn't walk off with it. Twisted Evil Had the double C.D. not been offered there I would have had to tried to get it off e-BAY Exclamation

Rob, I greatly appreciated having a place to get these things!

The calendar idea is terrific, as well as D.V.D. etc. You can put me down for one of each Wink
