Hi Everyone,
I love the idea of a Hollies forum, it is another great way of keeping in touch and swopping news about the band. I also wonder if anyone out there can help me. I have been trying for ages to track down a Bernie Calvert autograph as he is the only band member I don't have. If anyone can help me out I would love to hear from you.
I look forward to reading and chatting with fans.

HI AB

Welcome to the forum

It's frustrating not being able to find Bernie, but Rob might be able to help you there... he's got more contact with the guys than anyone... or you could write to Jimmy Hill the Hollies Representation who might have contact number for him... let me know if you get anywhere with it.

Hi Shells Exclamation

I hate to tell you this but you made a slight mistake, The Hollies Manager or Representative is Jimmy Smith not Hill. Wink

And AB, welcome to the forum. Hope to see a lot more messages from you. Like Shells said if you want to find out about Bernie Calvert (or any other ex Hollie) just ask Rob or Jimmy. Smile

You will find Jimmy's address/telephone and email if you click on Hollies Management on Rob's homepage. Very Happy

All The Best

Susie

Hey AB

Any update on the autograph yet Question

Gina, you know where I got Jimmy Hill from? He's a pundit on TV Sports... think he was a racing driver or sommat Laughing

Hi Shells

Thanks for asking about the autograph hunt, I'm pleased to say it has been an unexpected yet speedy success. Gina got in touch immediately and has got some signatures she is willing to part with. So I'm feeling very grateful and thrilled at the prospect of getting Bernie Calvert to add to my collection. Gina you are a star.

As a side issue, Jimmy Hill was a football player before becoming a TV pundit and the other Hill, who was a racing driver was Graham Hill the Dad of Damon. I love sport incase you hadn't guessed.

All the best
AB

Just talking about autographs, I wrote to Terry's web site and I asked if there was a chance of getting his autograph, I got a reply, it said if I would like to buy his cd's they have been signed. Sorry Terry looks like I'll never get it now, thought that was a bit poor.
I'm not mean but have spent heaps over the years on the Hollies and thought it may have been a bit of good PR work.

Hi Anthony Exclamation

That's a bit weak, telling you to by Terry's CD or you don't get his autograph but it isn't Terry's fault though, it is the person/people who run his website.

I bet that if you asked Helen from Carl's website for an autograph or something, she wouldn't tell you to buy a CD first.

Hi Susie,
I agree it may not be Terry's fault, it's not the fact of not getting the autograph, I'm just not going to buy a cd to get it. I have been sent autographed photos of the Hollies by Jimmy Smith and Helen also sent me a tour flyer signed by Carl.
I just feel Terry needs some better PR people around him,
Bye,
Anthony

Well Anthony, I agree with what you're saying, but if you haven't got any of Terry's CDs, you're missing something really good.

Ditto on what Gordon said. Terry's anthology is well worth getting, even if you already have 100 percent of the dozen Hollies tracks on it. Or the original solo albums, or the Griffin/Sylvester album.

Idea No promises, Anthony, but let me try something...

Shells,

Think I know another reason why you might have renamed Jimmy Smith...the first line of his address is Hill Farm. Smile

Hi Anthony Exclamation

You are very lucky to have autograph photos of the Hollies and a flyer signed by Carl. I might send an email to Helen and Jimmy and ask if I could have some signed photos or a flyer.

As for Terry's autograph, I still think it is a weak act of the people who run his website demanding you buy Terry's CDs to get his autograph.

All The Best

Susie
