Anyone know the source of the bonus tracks - I'm presuming Blowin' and Write On are from the Mainz recording?

Let's see - aside from having the LP on both UK and Canadian labels, I have the CD release (on German Polydor, I seem to recall, although I could be wrong about that) plus EMI had the nerve to tack on that entire album as part of the big box set.

Anyway, for others, it sounds good. And, I'd be willing to wager some serious cash that indeed the bonus tracks are from the Mainz concert (left unspoken is the question as to why those two songs get re-released yet the whole concert is not available).

Despite the abscence of either Terry or Graham Mainz is probably the better Hollies live album. It would be well worth releasing.

Does anyone agree on balance it is maybe better than Live Hits?

I agree with MichaelC. The Mainz show is amazing.

I'd also probably have to agree with MichaelC, although I do miss the input of Terry and Bernie. To be honest, Mainz has a more interesting song selection.

It's a bootleg, Benny. Write On and Blowin' were included in a CD a few years back and obviously both will now be included it would appear on the Magic Records release.

It's a shame the Mainz concert (or a sizeable chunk thereof) was not included in the live disc in the box set.

The Mainz set contains the best 'long Cool Woman' I have ever heard, Tony is outstanding with his guitar work, this was an official stereo radio broadcast that would have made a fabulous genuine release had someone thought about it.
