Whether I will give it away or not, I will buy it anyway. Hope for an excellent sound.

I understand that "Papa Rain" was written by Colin Jennings (composer of "Romany", "Magic Woman Touch" etc.....)

Is "Papa Rain" a ballad or up tempo song? What about the trademark Hollies harmonies?

Holliesfan, I do believe that this is one song that has never been bootlegged, so I guess that no one aside from a true insider can tell you anything about this recording.

That just makes the waiting even more exciting.

The sound on the Magic reissue is rather flat, Benny. I'll bet good money the sonic quality of this EMI reissue will be much better (certainly the Romany disc as part of the EMI Four More Originals box set was...).

"Witchy Woman" already is a great track by The Eagles. How good it must be as a Rickfors-era Hollies recording.
And "Papa Rain". It must be a good track because it is from a Hollies era where The Hollies did not really record bad tracks at all. There is no single song on "Romany" or "Out On The Road" I don't like.
But it is quite annoying that I have to buy another issue of "Romany" to get those songs. I already have "Romany" as the Magic Records release. A "Rarities, Volume 2" would have made more sense for me. But maybe the sound on this new release will be better than on the Magic Records release. I never was satisfied with the sound of the two Rickfors-era Hollies LPs on the Magic Records release.

There's the link.

Great, great tracks - particularly giving us the Terry-sung version of Oh Granny. This is a smart, well done release.

Of course, I'm not going to pay 32 dollars for it, as I'll surely find it cheaper somewhere else. But I will certainly buy this one!

The price has been adjusted; now it's half that.

IF Hollies fans want MORE re-issues like the forthcoming "Romany" and "Buddy Holly" albums (and maybe "Out On The Road" later....?)....they MUST support this re-issue programme....for if sales are good there may well be MORE such releases....however if sales are disappointing the re-issue programme COULD fade out....

Something I always liked about The Rickfors Hollies was...

Mike Rickfors had such a "Timestopping" Soulful Lead Voice.....
Rickfors-Hicks-Sylvester had such BREATHTAKING Harmonies....
Tony Hicks was brilliant on that Guitar/Sitar....
Bernie Calvert played such subtle keyboards in that era....
Bobby Elliott provided such subliminal percussion work too....

The "Hollies Production" was really full of sophisticated Craftsmanship .....

While Colin Jennings provided some really splendid "Atmospheric" songs...like "Romany" and "Words Don't Come Easy"....yes ?

Remember, it's up to All Hollies fans to show their support for this Latest EMI UK Re-issue programme.....!

You got my vote, Geoff. On paper (or should that be PC screen?) the Romany reissue looks superb, let's hope it is for real.

Chances are that if we buy it from a high street retailer here in the UK, the price wont be too disimilar, Ray. I think you've got a bargain there. Smile

Well James it's probably a fat chance I would ever find a brand new copy of this "Romany" CD here in any store in NZ.................. Although amazing things do happen. Recently I have seen copies of the "Hollies Sing Hollies" CD in one store, plus I did pick up a brand new copy of the Everly Brothers CD "Two Yanks In England" it only cost $5:00 NZ (abt 1.87 british pounds at present)
Cheers Ray

Even over here, it's mostly infinite numbers of compilations which the shops have, very few genuine albums.
