This DVD sounds superb! I had my doubts that there would be a full concert on the DVD, thought it might have been a promo or five minute compilation type thingy. Nevermind, this sounds close to what we've all been waiting for for years!

I'm curious. With all the buzz about the Dutch DVD...I was wondering if it was ever approved by The Hollies camp. Mind you, I'm not trying to be the devil's advocate...it's just that the Hollies history has them approving everything before it ever becomes available for public consumption. Does anyone know if The Hoolies, LTD ever blessed this project?

I was thinking the same thing. There's been no official announcement, so I have my suspicions...

The blessing is that it's out. Long overdue.

My only concern is that Rob has stated more than once on this site that concerts, tours, music projects etc. ONLY become "official" when they're announced on this website.

I'm just happy we have this Hollies DVD, if we had to wait on the Hollies blessing we would not be talking about this DVD now. I'm pleased that we have the He ain't heavy DVD and now this Dutch Collection, it's what the fans have wanted for many years.
The Hollies have had many chances over the years to bring out a DVD, we have all heard that concerts have been recorded, for what ever reason they have never seen the light of day.
You only have to look on ebay to see how many people have sold video's and DVD's of Hollies clips. I saw a video of a Carl/Hollies show on ebay so these people know the demand is there.
I'm really looking forward to my copy arriving soon in the mail, I love the Hollies and love seeing footage of the band in action.
Maybe one day the band will bring out an official DVD, so far they have got it wrong.
You only have to see how many replies to this DVD topic to prove that.
Anthony

Got mine, thanks to Ro-Robert.

After a quick flick through, going away for the weekend in a few minutes, my initial thoughts are - FantastIc - Good Quality - Good Content.

And yes, it is official. Done under cover of EMI International in Holland but I think by the BR Music label.

Hello Holliesfan,

Be aware that the DVD is PAL and not NTSC. I'm not sure if this will cause any trouble when you want to play the DVD in the USA.

best regards,

Ro-Robert

The DVD is released by EMI Holland, but made by BR Music. BR Music is a great Dutch company who have made terrific DVD's like The Tremeloes and Dave Dee, Dozy Bicky Mick and Tich. They have unique access to archive material of sixties and seventies TV-performances.

I have contacted them in the past to release a compilation of rare performances of Merseybeat bands on DVD for example. Also compilations like 'Sound of 1973' is possible.
I need to sell at least 2.000 copies. I'm afraid this is a bit too much for Holland only. I'm still looking for possiblilities though. It would be nice if there could be another DVD with Hollies-footage. For fans only?

Hi Ro-Robert!
Yes this DVD is great and we, the fans, must say thanks to the guys from BR Music. My favorites are: Listen to me, Interview 64, Boulder, I`m down, Star and of course Son of a rotton gambler. Yes, they did more live versions for Supersonic "Draggin my heels", Heavy and Long cool woman. Draggin my heels is a fantastic clip.
I hoped, that there are any more real great Clips - Hits in Netherland - on this DVD like: Falling Calling, Wiggle that.., Man without a heart, Amnesty And maybe any other versions. But this DVD is all in all a great one.

This message goes out to anyone whose ever had a DVD converted from PAL to NTSC format. I would love to purchase the new Dutch Collection DVD but am uncertain as to how the conversion will effect the overall quality. Any comments would be welcomed. I especially would like to hear from those of you living in the US..Thanks!
