Hi Geoff,
Did it give a release date? I'm still interested in seeing what the 1976 NZ concert is, just can not believe we can be that lucky.
Thanks,
Anthony

Hi Anthony

Just ordered it via Key Mail Order and received an email in return saying it wont be released until this coming Monday (12 Feb). I would assume that it may be a fortnight after that before we get it here in the UK and likewise for the rest of the world.

Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere, but from the Key Mail Order website (spelling left as per the webpage! :

Starts...

Available to order now from Europe is "The Dutch Collection", a 22 track compilation of hits from The Hollies that comes with a bonus DVD which includes a live concert in New Zeeland 1976 and Graham Nash interview.

CD: Here I Go Again / Bus Stop / Stop Stop Stop / On A Carousel / Carrie Anne / King Midas In Reverse / Dear Louise / Jennifer Eccles / Listen To Me / Sorry Suzanne / Blowin' In The Wind / He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother / I Can Tell The Bottom From The Top / The Baby / Man Without A Heart / Magic Woman Touch / The Day That Curly Billy…/ The Air That I Breathe / I'm Down / Falling Calling / Sandy / Wiggle That Wotsit

DVD: Just One Look / I'm Live / Look Through Any Window / I Can't Let Go / Bus Stop / Stop Stop Stop / On A Carousel / Carrie Anne / Dear Eloise / Jennifer Eccles / Listen To Me / Sorry Suzanne / Blowin' In The Wind / He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother / Gasoline Alley Bred / Too Young To Be Married / Hey Willy / The Baby / Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress / Magic Woman Touch / The Day That Curly Billy…/ The Air That I Breath / Son Of A Rotten Gambler / I'm Down / Sandy / Daddy Don't Mind / Interveiw with Graham Nash / Live Concert The Hollies In New Zeeland 1976

...Ends

I'm a bit confused about the DVD contents - is it other live footage AND the New Zealand concert as well? Or are most of the songs listed in the DVD section part of the New Zealand concert and the others bonus tracks? (mind you, can't spot I Can't Tell The Bottom From The Top)

Hopefully the former is true as that means there may be a chance of Boulder and Amazing Grace appearing in the concert footage.

Not sure if I've made any sense there (I understand what I mean!)...will just have to wait for the DVD to pop through the front door, hopefully sometime next week...

Cheers,
Chirpy

Strange, because I just received them. I'm happy Very Happy

There's a slipcase, but I think this is limited. The CD and DVD are placed on top of each other in a normal CD jewel case. Not my favourite way of holding discs.

There's a 12-page-booklet inside. Very nice. The story is off course in Dutch, but most pages have details about the songs, including charts positions and some Dutch covers.

The DVD-footage are from:

Just one Look: Top of the Pops BBC 1964
I'm Alive: Rooster Avro (NL) 1966
Look Through Any Window: Rooster Avro (NL) 1966
I Can't Let Go: April Films
Bus Stop: Beat Beat Beat (Germany) 1967
Stop Stop Stop: April Films
On a Carousel: Studio Performance from ITN 1967
Carrie Anne: April Films
Dear Eloise: April Films
Jennifer Eccles: April Films
Listen To Me: Promo
Sorry Suzanne: Beatclub 1969
Blowing in the Wind: April Films
He Ain't Heave...: This Is Tom Jones 1969
Gasoline Alley Bred: Top of the Pops 1969
Too Young to be Married Disco From ZDF 1971
Hey Willy: Disco From ZDF 1971
The Baby: Disco From ZDF 1972
Long Cool Woman: Promo
Magic Woman Touch: Promo
The Day That Curly..: Top of the Pops 1973
The Air That I Breathe: Russel Harty from ITN 1974
Son of a Rotten Gambler: Sez Les from ITN 1974
I'm Down: Promo
Sandy: "45" from ITN 1975

The Extra's:

- Interview With Graham Nash. (says the inlay)
Filmed in a tour bus in Holland. Not only Graham Nash is talking, but also Alan Clarke and their manager. Some Dutch manager is also interviewed in Dutch. It is interesting. I will translate this later, when I have some time. Alltogether great archive material!!!
- TV-performance of Star: Eddy Go Around Show (NCRV, Holland) 1976
- Promo of Boulder to Birmingham
- Interview with Tony and Terry in Australia, 1976. Interesting!!!
- Heartbeat: TV-performance, Telebingo (Avro, Holland) 1980 (very special!)
- Holliedaze: Top of the Pops 1981 with Graham Nash

euh.... No concert in New Zealand!!!!!

I got myself a copy from ebay, a buy it now on the 12th of Feb. I'm off work next week and hope it arrives when I'm home.
What do you mean by April Films?
Sounds like you are happy with the goods, I'm really looking forward to my copy,
thanks again for the info,

Sorry one last question, is the copy of Daddy Don't mind a good quality clip?, I just love that song.
Sorry about the questions but I'm excited about "The Dutch Collection"

Don't worry about the questions. I would love to answer them.

April Films is probably a firm which have the rights of promo clips.

There is no New Zealand concert on the disc Sad

Daddy Don't mind is a great TV-performance. It is live in the studio. The audience is loving the song as they are swinging in their chairs. To heat up the song real fireworks is used behind the band. Good show! You will love it!

Ro-robert is quite modest here. He actually runs a large DVD store in Holland and can also supply this DVD.

Check out his site Here

The Graham Nash interview 06-06-1964

The Questions are in Dutch. Translated in English:

- "Do you you have as the Hollies avery specific sound?"
Graham replies in English.
- "We have seen your show and we noticed that the girls screamed a lot. Have you any idea why they do that?"
Graham replies in English.
- The interview ends with the remarks: "Yes, why not. You only lost your freedom and every night you leave the theatre through a back door, but why not."

Then interviews starts in a bus in Holland: 27-01-1966

First Graham Nash gets a question about the Hollies name (all in English), than Tony
is asked how many TV-performances he made. another Hollie (sorry, don't know his name) gets a question what he will do once beatmusic is over. After this the roadmanager says a few words about what he does as a road manager. Bobby is next to get a question.

The following conversation is between two Dutch guys in Dutch. No subtitles so if you don't know any Dutch and you want to know what they are saying:

"Mr. Vis, what does a band like this earn per performance?"
"That's about 3500 guilders per performance and these guys play only half an hour."
"And if you compare this with Dutch Beatbands?"
"They earn about 125 to 700 guilders and they play 5 sometimes 6 hours."
"So that's quite a difference."
"A lot yes."

Finally Allan gets the question "How many records made the hitparade?"

Funny movement of Graham in the end scene.

From the same Supersonic TV show, they also did a great extended live version of "Draggin' My Heels". This song, one of their best from the late '70s, was only released as an A-side in the US, as a 7" and a disco extended version 12" single. It is something of a cult club classic nowadays. It was a B-side in several other countries.

Thanks Ro Robert,
The DVD sounds brilliant. I'm looking forward to the interview with Tony and Terry from Australia, funny I have Australian interviews from the band from 1983 and also 1987 so this will make my Hollies goodies from Australia into a nice collection.
Sounds like whoever put this DVD together did a first class job.
