So it's agreed then; somebody record this program and make copies for us. Thanks in advance.

I wish I could record for you, but my system allows me to record directly from my TV providor, hence no DVD or Video recorder needed; I got rid of my recorders a couple of years ago

I suspect that a lot of people have done the same since this system came about, only now realising the mistake> I wish I was able to make a hard copy to keep for myself

Geoff, just want to say thanks for trying to get the BBC material "officially" released. Even if it doesn't happen, I know Hollies fans everywhere appreciate your efforts!

Rob - what is the opinion of 'Hollies Ltd' if this is recorded onto DVD and distributed purely for non-profit? Could we have some clarification please as I remember there was a rather curt notice from Jimmy Smith in Carousel a few years back threatening legal action as I recall Question

It's a moot point unless someone on this site in the UK with access to that channel has a DVD burner!

Now, if only BBC America would pick up the broadcast, we Yanks would be in business! (Cash In The Attic and the original Who's Line Is It Anyway are two of my favorite - or should I say favourite - programs!) Hey, how many seasons of "Wire In The Blood" were made? I loved Season 1 of that show, but never saw any other episodes.

James
Rob can confirm or advise but I understand the Copyrite on "Hollies in Concert" would belong to The BBC themselves...not The Hollies Ltd....as it was a BBC Television programme, and this Telerecording is from the BBC Archive not from The Hollies or EMI Records etc....

Sadly, it would be illegal to record and distribute clips from the TV.

Google presently has a problem since buying YouTube with copyrighted stuff being shown on its website. This comes under the same law.

It is however, very difficult to police and I don't think a few DVDs from this show is going to hit the Crown Court.

Does anyone remember a concert special shown on ITV, in - I think - 1976?

I remember it because I missed it: I was a child and as usual was going through the TV Times, when I noticed the concert. Great I thought, then a blackcloud came over me when I realised that as a family we were going on holiday. This was before Video recorders became cheap enough for the ordinary family.

Maybe we could get ITV to show a repeat

Yes, I seriously doubt that the BBC is going to take legal action against me in the U.S. if I participate in duplicate ten or fifteen DVD's from their television program.

C'mon, guys, surely SOMEONE here knows SOMEONE in the U.K. who owns a DVD recorder!

Well i guess I'm the guy! I'm recording the concert tonight on my Sky+ PVR. I am on holiday for a week from Saturday, but when I get back, I'll put it on DVD and see where we go from there. I am a little concerned about the copyright issue though.
