More videos on YouTube, including "The Baby", and, get this, a 1982 video of US band Glass Moon, who had a Top 40 hit with a cover of "On A Carousel", the arrangement of which The Hollies used the following year when they toured the US with Graham Nash. Good video, too; '80s style, of course. |

This is the version which is on the 'Dutch Collection' DVD. I don't think the audience know what to make of it! |

I wish somebody would post the '71 Aussie TV version on YouTube. I've never seen it but the audio of it sure sounds good. |

Although there's no video of it, the version of "Too Young.." from the '76 Hollies Live (Hits) album is, to my ears, superior to the studio version. It is slightly slower and more heartfelt. I think they should have released it as a single at the time, since the 1970 studio version was only released as a 45 in Australia (and went to No. 1). |

Yes, Dennis, I agree that the Live Hits version is far superior. Lovely version and,m as you said, sounds more heartfelt. I love the addition of the string synthesiser at the end, as the song just drifts off into the sunset...beautiful. |

I think the same of the live '76 "He Ain't Heavy"; there is more emotion in this version that the studio recording. As you say, beautiful. |

Here's another version of "I'm Alive," with the original studio recording recorded over the concert footage:

At the very end, you can see Allan turning and bending over from exhaustion. Poor thing! It made me wish I were there so I could run and hug him! |

Dear all,
Have added a clip to youtube - It's In Every One Of Us...recorded on my camera in Feb 2004 (I think), quality not brilliant but it acts as a great reminder of some fantastic times seeing the band fronted by Carl.
Check it out here :

Enjoy,

Thank you Chirpy. I never had the pleasure of seeing Carl on stage, so it is really nice to see this clip.
Vrinda, thanks for linking us to the "I'm Alive" video. What a great performance by Allan. He really put everything he had into it! |

Thanks Chirpy!
That sent absolute chills up my spine, and triggered a lot of memories of a special time and a special friendship. Especially since I have the same Ozzy shirt Carl was wearing at the time! |

Many thanks, Chirpy. Great clip and a very fitting end to those gigs. |

Thanks Chirpy,
Great to see Carl in action, it's such a shame we have so little of his time with the Hollies. |
