I have just got the excellent new America album "Here & Now" (Sony/BMG Burgundy - 82876 85749 2), this consists of a 2CD Set , the first Disc includes 12 new studio recordings...the second a live alum of classic songs....why don't The Hollies do this too...?

Geoff - I've always thought that this was a good option for the band from the mid-90's.

Geoff - I'm all for the idea. That could be a very interesting project for the Hollies. How about a Hollies/America tour. Talk about harmonies...wow. Maybe Jimmy Smith could facilitate same if the Hollies were interested. It would certainly make for a nice package.

Hi Geoff,
I agree with you 100% Some old classics mixed with new material, maybe they could do a couple of new versions like they did with Here I go again. I think fans still like to see a link with the older material and past line ups. What I'd love to hear would be a solo from Tony singing Too Young To Be Married.
Now with the Dutch collection DVD maybe a concert DVD with this line up.

Hi Geoff,

I got my copy of America's new double CD last month, as well. Great new tunes. Although I tend to like the Gerry Beckley songs on the other America albums more Dewey's contributions are my favourites this time. "Ride On" and "Golden" are great songs.
but I must admit that I'm not too excited about the live versions of their songs. Sometimes the songs start out faster than they end up like "I Need You" or "Daisy Jane" (it seems, as if the drummer wanted to slow the band down) and the singing is not really perfect.
My first thought was: What a great concept that album would be for The Hollies' next album (studio/live 2 CD set) because their live versions are perfect according to what I personally saw and heard in the Albert Hall. I really WANT to have a copy of that new version of "Look Through Any Window". It's a real shame that The Hollies didn't play it during their Capital Gold concert so that more people could hear it.
So, we seem to have had the same idea, Geoff.
