Britney Spears did a commercial for a green tea soda brand called Go-Go Tea in Japan, and the background music is the Hollies "Stay." The commercial is only 14 seconds long, not long enough to enjoy the song, but short enough so we don't have to see too much of Britney.

Hi Geoff,
Yes, I do! Britney should stick to what she does best, and I can't say what that is on a public forum, because I might get arrested for indecency.
For the record, what did David Crosby say about Ms. S.? |

Probably unprintable too !....but in an interview Mr. Crosby, talking about Crosby,Pevar,Raymond did say..."I don't expect the new album to sell anything like CSN,but the fact is we are now "stuck" with living in a Britney Spears world..." |

I can only imagine what he said ... I won't go that far! Ha ha!
It's funny how no one I know likes Britney, or even admits to liking her. Even my cousin, who lives in India, says she and her friends hate her. There's just no substance to this girl whatsoever. Maybe the makers of this commercial purposely used the Hollies version of "Stay" because it would overshadow Britney and make people remember the commercial and product. It certainly worked for me! |

David Crosby has never been "shy" about his remarks has he ? (watch as Quick tempered Steve Stills "rises to the bait" every time Crosby deliberatly "stirs him up" him in the CSN story video years ago...Nash was always peacemaker...at least now they get on !)
His feelings about Ms.Spears are shared by many in the UK too..... |

No, "shy" is not a word to describe David Crosby. I agree with him on the events of Dallas in 1963 - the government lied and there was a coverup, but whose decision was it for him to leave the Byrds, the other members, their fans, management, or David's himself?
As for Ms. Spears, I can only say now that she needs to wise up and mature, for the sake of herself and he kids, otherwise, the sentiment shared the world over for her will continue.
I wonder if she even knows who the Hollies or David Crosby are! |

Now after Mr.C told the young hippies in the crowd :
"There were additional gunmen dressed as Police officers...
Come On !,this was YOUR president...!!"
Messrs McGuinn and Hiilman going "pale" with surprise....
They were duly dispatched to Crosby's home a few days later...he was delighted to see them...they told him his "services" were no longer required.... |

Trust no one ... So true!
I agree. it probably wasn't Hillman and McGuinn's decision to drop him from the band, but because they were the ones at the forefront, and the management was behind the scenes, then it was easy for people to point the accusing finger at Chris and Roger.
At least they patched things up. |

Hi Vrinda !
Yes,in August 1990 Messrs Crosby,McGuinn, and Hillman reassembled in Nashville and recorded four songs...including a superb version of Bob Dylan's song "Paths of Victory",included on the magnificent Four CD set : "There is a Season" (Columbia/Legacy 82876877002 ) with 99 Byrds & related tracks, five previously unissued... a photo from these 1990 sessions at the end of an excellent booklet (like The Hollies had in "Long Road Home" box set),shows the three original (and sadly now "surviving") Byrds in a very similar shot to CSN all around the microphone "Harmonising".
Crosby said it was magnificent to fly "Shotgun" with them again....
I am sure the other two NEVER wanted to "axe" David Crosby at all, hence leaving those three songs he wrote/co-wrote on "Notorious Byrd Bros" at the time...and now restoring "Triad" as a "bonus" track to the latest CD version... |

I'm also sure they never wanted to ax Crosby. They probably had the same views he did, but were afraid to voice them at the time. Getting rid of him would be a nail in the coffin for the Byrds. |
