Is there any way we can encourage radio stations to broadcast a "CAST YOUR VOTE FOR THE HOLLIES" for the R&R Hall Of Fame? I'm sure there are many classic rock stations that have no idea the lads are still going strong in 2004. Also I'd be curious to know how so many fans came to sign-up for the petition on this website. Were they all simply visitors to the site or did they hear about the peition somewhere else? Wouldn't it be great if they all became regular contributors to this discussion forum? |

That's a good idea! I think we should all lobby our local radio stations.... it's about time we did something other than signing petitions don't you think? |

Hi,
I think the only way for that to work is if the local radio station at the town the Hollies are going to play does it. In Australia apart from a few nobody would be interested and in the US it would be the same. The Hollies could do a radio interview with the dj, hey I'm sure they could drum up some votes. In the end is it really that important for the Hollies to get into the Hall of fame, maybe not.
Bye, Anthony |

Perhaps Jimmy Smith can pull some strings and arrange for the local radio stations on the tour to drum up interest in The Hollies for the RRHOF. Of course on air interviews could also work wonders. |

OR, we could all lobby the radio stations ourselves! I know that Clyde 1 or 2 in Glasgow will interview them cos they usually do when they come here.
A wee email to your fave DJ is worth a try, don't you think... it's just a suggestion. I know in Glasgow they have a good following...I was at my wee Kandu Club yesterday and we were talking about them. Up pops Midred saying she was going.... most of us are wheelchair users so are unable to go cos the Pavilion isn't the best theatre for wheelchairs.... Pam told me she went there once and she felt the aisles too sloped for her to sit comfy....
There are 10 of us in the club (logistics don't allow us to have too many members in Kandu) and everyone one of them said they would have gone if they could.... |

That´s right Alan! In Sweden a classic radiostation has a vote-link from their website, just to help the Hollies into the Rockn´Hall of Fame. As you can see a lot of Swedes are voting now. Hope other citizens in other countries and radiostations will do the same, otherwise we will not reach 10000 votes. look at http://www.vinyl107.se
Hope to see a lot of Holliesfans in Glasgow and Stirling// Göran with four other Swedes. |
