Hi Rob,
Just wondered if there was any news of a possible 2nd single, after your poll a while back!
Croydon was absolutely great, the atmosphere was electric, did not hear one negative comment.
I am looking foward to Clumber Park in August when I hope to bring the whole family!!

Good point carol7cat. I'd also like to know what the "next" single might be. My personal preference would be either "Break Me" or "Live It Up". Whatever it be, we need to make certain that EMI puts all it's effort into promoting it. As we all know, the lack of such an effort resulted in the demise of the single "So Damn Beautiful". This song was so richly deserving of a better fate. Just maybe if the next single does well, SDB can be revisited for a future release(if that's at all possible).

I agree with you totally, so damned beautiful is such a catchy song, it seems to have gone down really well this tour. It would be greatful if they could re-release it even if in the states.
Whatever they choose I wish them much success!

What about it Rob, is a US release still possible? Does anyone have any idea?

Hi all,
I remember the good old days when you went to the local record shop and got the new single over the counter. Funny the first single was a download type of thing, I felt cheated, would a second single be the same?
Funny when you get older things seemed to be better in the good old days, who knows maybe they weren't as good as we think?
Good luck with any single, hope it goes well, the last Hollies single I heard on the radio was Stop in the name of love, and I heard that a number of times so it was not a one off play. Don't think it went into the charts here but it was great to hear the Hollies on the radio.
Bye,
Anthony

So damn beutiful is So damn beautiful when Hollies performs it live.

On record itīs too much of everything.

I think thereīs no new single on Staying Power, though itīs a good album . Sorry.

Find a new song that can make it as a single.

Each to their own!!!
A good single to me is one that you hear and then go away, and you are either humming or singing to yourself. It seems to stick in your head!!!
That may sound a bit obscure, but I think the tune and lyrics to SDB are extremely catchy.
If you had been at Cafe De Paris you would have heard the audience singing along to it!!
My 8 year old who is in to Girls Aloud and Sugababes loves it!!!
As I said though we are all entitled to an opinion!!!

That must be why I woke up every day last week with a song from Staying Power in my head, or could have been because I had seen the Hollies 3 times in the last week Confused .

I can't get The Baby out of my head today.

Oh, carol7cat, I agree on the quality of sdb. My point is that Hollies gives it a much better treat on stage than on record. It could have been a great single, but now itīs not. Itīs a pity.

What to do then?, I think the boys should enter the recording studio again and record a new single. Now!

I totally agree Shelley, The Baby is a real hitsong. One of the most underestimated Hollies-songs ever. Iīm happy the boys still seems to love it.

Weird that isn't it, we all think the same!!!
I love "The Baby", is is one of my favourites and would certainly be in my all-time top 5.
I also love SDB and Hope!!!
Lets "Hope" that The Hollies will not keep us in "Suspended Animation" before too long before announcing the next release!!

As Hollies-fans we can always have different points of view and a good discussions. We can afford being critical, as well as we can express our appreciation of the group.

But we can always agree on that The Hollies has been, and is, a gigantic music goldmine. I hope it will continue for a long, long time with Staying power!

Thanks Carol7cat! We will enjoy the gig in Sweden. Itīs an openair show on the bottom of an old mine, which now functions as a concerthall, especially for classical music. And the Hollies are classical.....

As you might know the Hollies had some special hits in Sweden, that werenīt even singles in UK or USA. I think the audience is expecting Very last day (a giant no 1), Stewball and Fifi the flea. But are the boys prepared to perform these songs??
