I'm hoping someone knows the answer to this because it's been driving me nuts for nearly 30 years!

This refers to the live recording of The Hollies in Christchurch. You all probably know which recording I mean. I believe the old LP was called "The Hollies Live" and the CD version was called "Live Hits." It makes up most of disc 6 of "The Long Road Home." Anyway, the question:

In between the songs "Star" and "My Island" Allan is chatting with the audience and telling a few jokes. Right after he says "We don't earn enough to escape the tax man" someone from the audience shouts something. Whatever it is cracks up Allan and the audience laughs and applauds. All these years of listening, however, and I still have no clue as to what that person shouts out.

Can anybody out there clue me in?

I don't know whether that is someone from the audience shouting, but what I can hear sounds to be almost another member of the band saying 'We did until you fooled things up'....that's just my take on it! Smile

I thought somebody from the audience shouts something like "Yeah right ha ha ha" when Allan says they don't earn enough.

In a broad New Zealand or other Antipodean/southern hemisphere accent the audience member says:

"You don't know how lucky you are!"

Or so I have thought for almost 30 years!

To be more exact, I always hear this as, "Yeah lock yourself up!"

That's what I hear.
