I'm so jazzed! I found a DVD of The Hollies on The Midnight Special from 1973. I just got it on Ebay. Can't wait to see it!

The night the Bee Gees hosted? Let us know about it. Did they do Magic Woman another night?

Interesting performances of LCW and He Ain't Heavy.

We need details, Dennis. I guess we have this on VHS already. Who released these DVDs etc, I have made a list of more than 15 various artists DVDs containing Hollies, but haven't succeeded in having this printed in the Hollies Carousel magazine. Is the DVD interest among Hollies fans that small?

It probably wont be printed if your article makes even the slightest reference to bootlegs. Heaven forbid, Interpol will be at your door if the powers that be find out Wink

Hi James,
As long as Dennis get the details out before they lock him up and throw away the key,
is that a knock at the front door???????????????

Yes, this is the one with The Bee Gees, Herman's Hermits, and The Hollies. Barry Gibb introduces the band. I have the audio. This show was sort of a "Solid Gold" show, with million-selling songs being performed. So naturally it would be "He Ain't Heavy.." sung by Rickfors and "Long Cool Woman" sung by Sylvester. Yowee! I haven't seen this since '73.

Oh, yeah, they did "Magic Woman Touch" on another show. They also did "Amazing Grace", which was listed in TV Guide, but did not make the final edit of the show. Somebody needs to raid the NBC vaults!

Now that I think of it, I think they also did "He Ain't Heavy..." on the same show with "Magic Woman Touch".

Hello, James!

The DVDs I have listed in my unpublished feature are all official releases, they are just DVD compilations from Holland, the US, Germany, etc.
No bootlegs. So I really cannot understand why this feature should not interest the fan club members. My only explanation is that the Hollies at some point are going to release their own compilation, but I think true fans are going to buy that one too, even though some of us may have bought those various artists DVDs previously.

I no longer subscribe to Carousel, it was becoming very irregular plus the majority of it seemed to be taken up with concert reviews which, frankly, if you read one you've read them all. Being more interested in the 'classic' years, they don't interest me at all. The occasional articles on past albums and chart positions were interesting, but the world wide web is a good resource to find out more if I want. Why don't you try and get the article published elsewhere?

Does anyone have the Carousel issue with an article on "Romany" in it? I tried to get them to sell me a copy, but they would only sell me a subscription. Could one of you guys xerox the article for me? I'd really appreciate it.

Nice one Bruce, not a bad Allan Clarke solo number too.
Sounds like there is still heaps of Hollies footage around.
Getting it, now that's the problem.
Worked near Gaslight yesterday, it's just a shell of the old building now.
Bye,
Anthony

Don't count on the band to release any video footage. They haven't so far. Bobby and Tony seem to have zero interest in the band's legacy on video, probably thinking that if people had video of them performing they wouldn't go to the concerts.
