Is there anybody who can fill me in about the fourtones. Did they ever make a recording? Somewhere back in the mid 80's I got a cassette with four tracks on it. "learn how to twist", "crying in the rain", a break jingle and a song phonetically "whimaway", sounding like the lion sleeps to night of pata pata from Myriam makeba. I'M almost certain that u recognize the voices of Graham and Allan.....
Who knows more ?

If that's the fourtones then you have a real rariety there Exclamation Do you know if the tracks on the cassette came from a reel to reel tape Question If the sound quality is poor, it could be a live recording. BUT if the quality of sound is up to studio standard, I doubt if it would be them. I've never read of the Alan and Graham even making a demo recording. They're first session as far as I know was with the hollies.

I believe that the cassette comes from an acetate.

I've heard that tape too.

The songs are definitely Allan and Graham, and the sound quality DEFINITELY leaves something to be desired.

Ditto to what SpartyScott says. But worth it for the historical significance.

While the info I got when I received these tracks is that were recorded in the fall of 1960, an analysis of the songs used makes the spring of '62 more likely.
