They don't come to Belgium very often and I happen to be in the UK at that time.
I couldn't be happier! Smile

I hope everyone going to see The Hollies this spring tour, which starts tomorrow, has a great time! I have tickets for Crawley this Thursday the 10th, but unfortunately I can't make it. I shall have to console myself by watching The Hollies on youtube and their DVDs instead Sad

At least I've got tickets for Wimbledon next month, which should be ok.

Back from a wonderful four days Hollies holiday – the first four gigs of the Spring tour.
I’ve followed the band for 40 years, and when I see them live I can forget all the trials and tribulations of everyday life and just live for the music. Great musicians, wonderful atmosphere and great friends – what’s not to like?
They get better and better every time I see them, and this tour they seem to be having a ball.
Wednesday, Tunbridge Wells, and the start of the tour, and it was just lovely to be back – far too long since the last tour.
That was followed by Crawley on Thursday, Bournemouth on Friday and Worthing last night. Being the professionals that they are, they overcame some difficult technical problems in Crawley and delivered a great show.
The set list is at the bottom of this post, but that’s only half the story. The band members are gelling so well these days that the whole show is a delight – you have to be there to realise how wonderful it is to see such amazing musicians performing live.
Bobby Elliott and Tony Hicks continue to amaze - are they really in their 70s? They obviously love performing for an audience, and the audience love them in return.
Ray always makes me smile – he’s so laid back, but such a proficient bass player and a great vocalist too.
Ian is a wonder on the keyboards, and what can I say about Steve – a fabulous guitar player and such a great vocalist: his harmonies make the live performances a real treat.
On several occasions this week people have said “it’s not the same without Allan Clarke.” They’re right - it isn’t. But Peter Howarth has brought new energy to the band, and it’s his introduction to the band that has kept the Hollies alive.
Catch up with them if you can – I promise you won’t regret it.

It starts after about 1 hour 10 minutes and lasts app. 20 minutes. Apparently the book is still "work in progress" and the good news is that there are NO plans to retire!

Glad everyone is enjoying the latest concerts so much !

Looking at their current concert setlist Catherine has listed above, I do wonder if by now maybe they could 'rest' two or three of the very 'poppish' sixties hits - maybe say 'Yes I Will', 'Stay' and 'Jennifer Eccles' (not permanently of course I stress but just for a while) and replace them with two or three more of the Peter Howarth sung numbers (?)

- possibly say songs like; 'One Way Ticket', 'If You See Her' and maybe 'One Touch' (played along with 'The Baby' using Tony's guitar/sitar) - played in addition to the current concert songs 'Weakness', 'Priceless', and 'Emotions' - so that a little bit more of the current Hollies material is featured in their shows making the setlist a little more contemporary and just a little less nostalgic sixties/seventies comprised but of course without missing any of the out and out Hollies classics that people expect to hear at their shows

remember each of those three sixties hits I mentioned above had already been dropped from their live concert show by the famous 'mark two' Hollies incarnation of Clarke-Hicks-Sylvester by the time of their 'Hollies Live Hits' album in 1976...

and the Peter Howarth fronted Hollies are both very popular and successfully firmly long established by now...after all even the 'Staying Power' tracks from 2006 are some TEN years old now...!

I agree Gee, I would like more songs included from Staying Power and Then, Now, Always. Strange you mentioned 'One Way Ticket' as that's been going around my head all week and this morning, I woke up with 'She'd Killl For Me in my head. I've no idea why as I haven't played Then, Now, Always for a long time! I just have to say I would want to keep 'Stay' in the set list and that's the problem - everyone wants to hear their own favourites.
I'm just going to find Staying Power and TNA now to play them! Smile

I agree with the comments of both Gee and Dawn - I would like to hear more of the newer songs but I still want to hear my particular favourites. The set list for the current tour seems to be the same as Spring 2015; I expect someone puts the list together based on audience reaction? I admit to feeling a little disappointed at there not being any different songs this time but then I feel guilty because there must be hundreds of fans who cannot attend any concerts and would love to have just one chance of seeing the band live.
