The rallying cry continues to go out for a new Hollies DVD, Video, or Live studio album. It's truly heartwarming to know that the passion level is high amongst the band's fanbase for such a project. However, consider the Hollies themselves, do they have the same level of desire burning inside to deliver another product in the hopes that someone OTHER THAN the diehard fan will buy it? Let's face it, we've got to take a serious look at both sides of the equation. When it comes to a DVD or Video do you suppose the lads might
have a vanity problem? If so, I personally feel this would be a poor excuse..sorry, just venting here... actually more frustrated.. |

I agree! I believe that in the past Allan's voice may have been a bit offputting for a video or live album, but then again look at the amazing things that can be done in the studio to doctor things up these days (not least of all 'streatching' Buddy Hollys voice to suit the length of the record).
What the problem is to-day, no-one knows. I mean, almost all the sixties touring bands have videos (sometimes more than one) even if they only take them on tour with them. I've also never understood why a video of vintage clips has never been made available. Such things do exist cos I remember one being shown in the foyer at the Festival Theatre in Edinburgh perhaps as far back as 96.
It's a complete mystery.
