Hi Frostina (and everyone else!)
We are just back home from a short break in Buxton - the highlight of course being the concert on Thursday.
First I must mention a small disappointment for me, as King Midas in Reverse was left out of the set list so we didn't get to hear Steve as lead singer on that song.
Steve however was on top form and all of them were obviously enjoying the night as much as the audience - I don't think I have ever seen Tony laugh so much!
The new songs recorded since Peter became lead singer - Emotions and Weakness - were hits with the audience and I'm guessing that Thursday may have been the first time some of the audience had heard those songs.
Peter also sang the new song which he and Bobby wrote called Priceless.
I was pleased to hear The very last day back in the set list.
On one song - ( I'm not sure which - can anyone help? ) Ian took over the lead from Peter.
This was very funny although Ian did sound good!
We also were treated to the "twin guitars" of Tony and Steve on Look through any window.
Bobby as usual was Captain of the band - Peter calls the drums the engine room.
I must not forget to mention Ray who is very much part of this line up of the Hollies. Can anyone confirm that the six current Hollies have been together as a band longer than any other members?
The finale was of course He ain't heavy, The air that I breathe and Long cool woman.
Brilliant! |

Thank you so much for the report, Emily. It sounds as though a great time was had by all. **sigh** I wish I could have been there! |

Hi the one where Ian gets a chance to sing a verse as well as play his accordion is We're through. Peter and Steve love making fun of Ian when he is singing, usually Peter sticks his fingers in his ears. Tony was laughing a lot in Buxton and even more last night in Darlington. |

Thanks for the review Emily. I'm going to see them on the 23rd at Guildford. A shame King Midas is not included, but I'm looking forward to hearing Priceless - and hooray! We're Through is back. It used to be one of my favourites in the show, but they haven't done it for a long time. (Mind you, not with Ian singing!) |
