My Mum is one of those people who gets her words mixed up or doesn't realise what she has said sometimes! She told me a while ago that she had ordered some holly plants and would I like one when they arrived, to which I said yes.
I went to her house this morning, as we were going shopping. She opened the front door to me and then went straight upstairs, saying to me "The Hollies are on the table", leaving me at the bottom of the stairs thinking "?? - that would be a nice surprise!?? When she came back downstairs, I jokingly said "I can't see any Hollies". She didn't understand me and pointed to the 3 holly plants. I said "I can't hear them singing He Ain't Heavy" Of course then she realised what she had said and burst out laughing.
And there was me thinking The Hollies had come to visit my Mum. ha ha!  |
