Has anyone seen the musical 'Jersey Boys'? I love it! I've seen it 3 times and would definitely go again. Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons' catalogue of music is as diverse as The Hollies music, I think. So many great songs I had forgotten were by them. But one song took me completely by surprise, I had absolutely no idea they had recorded it - Stay! I felt such an idiot when I first heard it - thinking "Where have I heard that song before?" !! Of course, it is a much different version. The Four Seasons released their single version of Stay about a year after The Hollies released theirs, I believe. |

Hi Dawn
I saw the show when it first opened back in March 2008 and thought it was great.
In fact, I think I posted a quick review under Elevated Observations back then so if you look back to March 2008, you might spot it!
The show must be good if it has been going for over 6 years. |

Hello John, I've just found your review from 2008! I didn't join the Hollies Forum until 2009, so that's probably why I didn't see it.
I first saw the Jersey Boys in July last year and annoyed with myself that I had missed out on the previous 5 years! I hope to see it again soon at The Piccadilly Theatre, where it moved to in March this year. As you say, the language is a bit strong at times, but I found that 4 men in red jackets and the great songs, I could overlook that! |

Hi Emily, the film's not out until 20th June. I can't imagine it will be as good as the stage show, but at least the actors chosen for the film have previously been in the stage production and not actors who can sing a bit (I'm thinking Pierce Brosnan in Mamma Mia!!) |
