Perth has missed The Hollies. They received a extremely enthusiastic welcome on both Friday and Saturday nights. It was mentioned that they had not been in Perth since the late 70s. Both shows were fabulous of course and the band were at their usual professional best. They seemed to be relaxed and having fun. We were lucky to have front row centre for the first night and second row on Saturday. There were so many highlights, one being Too Young to be Married. This song is much loved in Australia and New Zealand and the audience participation is magical. We've been lucky to see The Hollies in the England, New Zealand, Sydney and Melbourne. It was wonderful to look around and see all those happy faces of people rediscovering a special band after too long an absence. We see them once again in Sydney and Melbourne on this tour.

We took my 82 year old Mum to her first Hollies concert. I played Carrie Anne to her to remind her of the words and told her singing along was mandatory. She dismissed me with "I know this song" Unfortunately she felt unwell towards the end of the show. After a very quick grab of fresh air and a glass of water was able to catch her favourite song Heavy from the sidelines.

Sounds like you had a great time Maraine, I hope to meet you at the Sydney concert on Saturday. I also hope that your Mum is feeling better.

Thank you for telling us about the concerts in Perth! I do like to hear about how the audience reacts to this very special band!
I hope your Mum will be well while you are on the east coast.
ps: I am hoping and praying that members of the band and their crew do not have to be worried about the floods while they are so far away from home.
