wow, Tony's the one who found the song and got the Hollies to record it in the first place.

then, after the tragedy, he wrote the lovely 'Hillsborough', which the Hollies recorded.

has TH been approached to participate in the new release? wouldn't he be the logical choice?? just mho. . . . .

Has anyone asked The Hollies about this?? It would be great if Tony and Bobby, at least, could be involved.

Barb, It would be just plain rude not to include Allan! The other alternative is Sir Paul McCartney, and going by his efforts for The Olympics he would ruin it! Anyway, the word is that Allan so far is the only Hollie that is wanted. Yes of course it would be fantastic to see more of the guys involved, but who knows, we shall just have to wait and see. I would have thought that Rob or someone close to the boys would know more.

please no no no no to paul mcca he was the worst singer at the olimpics and he would distroy the song.full list of artists are on wish fm web site and also in the daily express.bobby elliot and tony hicks should deffo be included , and as i have said peter howarth is a great choice to be included, if you look at the line up they include many liverpool artist and as its been everton fc who have started this off i think as a blue fan pete should be chosen( a blue fans supports everton )

Of course it would be wonderful if all six Hollies and Allan were invited to join in this recording but even if none of them are I think the project will be a winner for everyone.
Hopefuly the charity will receive lots of money and the artists who do take part will be applauded for their involvement - BUT "He ain't heavy he's my brother" will forever be known as a Hollies' Classic no matter who else records it and maybe folk will be persuaded to go to a Hollies concert next spring to hear the "real thing".
These folk will be the real winners because they will hear the best male vocalist on the current music scene. They will also hear the best harmonies and the very best musicians in any rock and roll band!
