Have just returned from a cruise and one day 6 of us went to Cascais near Lisbon Portugal. Walking to the marina we passed a street craft sale and saw a stall selling old LP's. I looked at a couple and walked on. Later returning to the train station my husband trying to wind me up as usual said ''I wonder if there are any Hollies albums'' and started to search - number 3 turned out to be The Hollies ''What goes around'' from 1983 in perfect condition, sleeve cover only slighty bend.
The cost of this find a mere 2 euros.
Fortunately I still possess a turntable even if a somewhat temperamental one.
Have always liked 'If the lights go out' and it is so good to hear the full version of 'Someone elses eyes' having heard the lads sing it at the concerts we went to last year.
Amazing how Steve Peter and Tony sounded so like the original version.
Has anyone else found a bargain? |

I haven't come across a bargain yet, that I can think of - but I'm going to a records fair at the end of month and I hope to come across some Hollies goodies, like EPs. |

I didn't realize what a great deal it was at the time but back in the late 80's I bought a large poster for Hollies (1974 Lp with the colored in eyes) for $6. It has quite a bit of wear from moving and I finally stuck it in a frame recently. I haven't seen another since. in hind sight it was a heck of a bargain.
I also found one of the Evolution silkscreen/giclee signed prints for half price recently. I sold off some other collectables that I didn't particularly want to pay for it. It's lovely! Under the right light I swear Tony is reaching out through my wall. A total bargain and worth every penny. |

I went to the record fair at Fairfield Halls yesterday. I couldn't find any Hollies EPs but I came back with three singles to add to my collection, all at 50 pence each! Here I Go Again, I Can't Let Go and He Ain't Heavy. I do believe it's the first time I have ever heard the B side of Heavy - a Tony Hicks' song - Cos You Like to Love Me. I like it
I've now got nine vinyl Hollies singles - Still a long way to go to get them all! There's another fair in September though. |

This might be the only other version of Tony's song ever recorded.
