Hello,

I love "When I'm Yours". It is so beautiful and it reminds me of an Hawaiian restaurant that was open down by Circular Quay in Sydney in the 1970's.

I also love "The Air That I Breathe" and many more .... I could go on...

What is your favourite Hollies Song (or, are your favourite songs' and why, if you would like)?

Best Wishes,

Jenny.

that will take some real thinking, Jenny, since picking just one or two is absolutely impossible - maybe a fav from each decade. . . no, can't do that either - maybe early Hollies, then psychedelic Hollies, then late 60's Hollies. . . and on and on, lol Very Happy

let me ponder that for some time!

no one ever mentions 'when i'm yours' - a truly fabulous Murray Head tune they covered in '79; i would agree with you and have to say it is one of my favs.

no, can't make up my mind just yet. . . get back with you later Very Happy

I can totally pick one. I am notorious for getting On A Carousel stuck in my head for weeks and weeks at a time. Based on that, I Can't Let Go has to be my second, though its in a close race with Have You Ever Loved Somebody. I would be hard pressed for a top five. There are just too many great ones to narrow it down.

I remember I was around 13 years old and I heard this song on a local radio station that stopped me in my tracks. I was totally blown away by the guitar intro and then the lead vocal and the vocal harmonies just made me quiver with delight. The song was Gasoline Alley Bred - It remains my utmost favourite song of all time by The Hollies.

"I'm Alive" has one of Alan's most heartfelt vocals and the instrumental backing is unsurpassed...still gives me chills all these years later.

I think I have to post my replies' all in one post, or I may not be allowed to post too many individual replies, so I hope you don't mind.

Hi Sass E Frass,
Great to hear from you. Yes, Lol. there are so many. I think I have a good one and then another comes along.

Hi Diane,
Weren't the people packed in at the concerts' in the old clips'. Loved Allan's shuffle. Just makes you feel great doesn't it.

Hello Barb,
It's wonderful that you and the girls' can go to the concerts' and for Olivia to receive Bobby's drum sticks' - so beautiful. What a precious gift.

G'Day Knut,
Thank you for telling me about your favourite song. I listened to it again today. It's good. Hope you are well.

Hello Carrie Anne,
Gasoline Alley Bred. I want to sing too. I still remember the words' even after a long time. Proves how good it is.

Hi Clutch Cargo,
"I'm Alive". Those words just make you 'realise' don't they? I like to sing them.

Think I have to add some more songs' to my list:

I Can't Tell The Bottom From The Top
Let Her Go Down
and The Baby.

Bye for Now,

Jenny.

I have many favourites, but Hillsborough is very special to me.

I'm also very fond of Indian Girl, and Man With No Expression, for no special reason, and Stewball of course, because it was one of the first songs I heard with the Hollies.

Jenny

Please feel free to post as often as you like and in any topic.

The idea of the topics is to enable threads to be followed. If you answer multiple threads in one post, it becomes quite difficult to keep up.

So please don't worry about posting too many times.

My all time favourite is LCW, it still gets played on the radio a lot here in Melbourne, when I hear it I feel so good inside, it's a great rock and roll number, just love the guitar intro.
I have favourite songs at different times, a lot depends on what mood I'm in, I really love "The whole world over", because it's one of their first recordings plus I love the harmonies. I have a soft spot for Carrie Anne, because when I was young I remember seeing a Hollies special on TV and they sang Carrie Anne, I love the way the three front guys all sang a verse, that song really got me interested in the Hollies and I've never looked back.
Of the newer songs I really enjoy "Let Love Pass" great words, love Peters vocals and great Hollies harmanies.
But in the end it's "LCW", it's great rock and roll

Hello Agneta. I had never heard "Man With No Expression" before and when I listened, it ended so suddenly, I didn't want it to end and had to replay it.....again and again. Lol. You have opened my mind to another beauty. Thank you. Jenny.

There are so many but that being said- Jesus Was a Crossmaker. I think it was their most unique and most brilliantly performed song. If there are any posts about the worst Hollies songs my vote would be a tie for Jennifer Eccles and LCW.

HELLO THERE.

It`s impossible to choose just one ,The Hollies have done so many great
songs. If I have to choose one it must be STAY,that song was the reason I
became a Hollies fan in 1964.

Have a nice evening. HÅKAN.
