Sorry about the Subject title. Not quite sure how to word it.

Anyway......

What I am after is information about chart positions in all countries (as many as is available) for Hollies albums. Not singles. i know we have the UK chart positions on the Hollies home page and I have seen some information for the US charts. Also New Zealand, but only from 1975 onwards. what about pre 1975?
I would like to know how well their albums charted through out other countries, and from 1963 through to the present.
I have done several seaches on the net, but obviously seem to be typing in the wrong search words. If someone could post this information here on this site, or even post links to relevent infomation. I would be grateful.

Cheers
Ray

I found a music chart website a couple of weeks ago called tsort.info, which looks quite informative. I don't know if anyone has come across this before. It might have some additional information. The Hollies are artist no. 116 on the site. It has worldwide singles and albums chart info.
If anyone looks at the site and knows what RYM stands for, I'd like to know please!

This reminds me that there is an interesting site called Rate Your Music. (A very different, I think, RYM than mentioned above.) The ratings seem to be based only on what the people who log onto the site think, but the interesting thing is the discographies that are on there. Possibly there is way more compilation info than you could ever want. Someone may find it of value. Here is the Hollies page: http://rateyourmusic.com/artist/the_hollies

Thanks Gee and everyone else so far for your links and suggestions.
It would seem there is a lot of gaps in this list you gave Gee.

to add to your list, there is the albums

"Finest" which peaked at 36 in NZ, and "Midas Touch" which peaked at 19 in NZ.

I hope this little bit of information is helpful to you Gee

I guess one of the problems is that here in NZ there were no official charts until 1975.
Not sure if this was the case in some other countries. But surely records of some sort of sales were kept, as they are always able to provide records of single sales.

cheers
Ray

I've added that - Thanks Ray !

- what year was 'finest' in new Zealand released ?

ANY additional info so we can update the album chart listings would be MUCH appreciated

there ARE lots of gaps as many countries album chart details (especially in the sixties) are not available.

Hi Gee

I'm not sure what year it was released in NZ. But according to the date it was in the charts on the 7/2/11 just last year. for only 1 week.

This date coincides with the Hollies tour here in NZ at the same time.

I'm not sure. but I know when I attended their concert in the Christchurch Town Hall on the 4/2/11.
the CD that was being sold at the time was "Finest"

this supprised me that their weren't copies of their latest "Now Then Always" or "Staying Power" availiable for purchase.
However their were copies of the DVD "The Hollies Special Live Edition" for sale.

Incidentaly, they actually sold out of CD's that night.

I don't know who is responsible for the sales or marketing merchandise at these concerts.
But I wonder if it was some companies here in NZ, and the sales numbers from the concerts went on to be recorded on the NZ charts. Just a thought..... .

Here is a link to the NZ Charts where I got my information

http://charts.org.nz/search.asp?search=Hollies&cat=a

I Hope this works, not sure if I have pasted it in right.

Cheers
Ray
