Amazon UK lists a new DVD released by Eagle Vision called Look through any window - 1963-1975 for 3rd October release. This is most probably the long awaited documentary made by Reelin In The Years.

Here is the description:
The Hollies were one of the most successful British groups of the sixties and early seventies and have continued to perform up to the present day. Look Through Any Window tells the story of their peak years from 1963 to 1975 when the band clocked up 27 UK Top 40 singles, 17 of which were Top 10s. They were also part of the British Invasion led by the Beatles that stormed the US charts in the sixties and scored hit singles in many other countries around the world. This DVD is the history of the Hollies told through newly filmed interviews with band members Allan Clarke, Graham Nash, Tony Hicks and Bobby Elliott and fantastic vintage footage of the Hollies performing their classic tracks in full.

Welcome news indeed.

We've probably seen all of these performances on varioius bootlegs, but I am confident that these will be the best quality available. And that's both for sound and video.

I like the "VH1" reference, which I hope means that the release will also be made for the U.S. market, in Region 1 format.

This is an essential release.

Play.com shows it without a release date, also with a full track list.

Thanks so much for the new info Knut. I am super excited I have been looking forward to this for so long. The Hollies have actually revolutionized and revitalized my life. I have recently been reintroduced to thier music and it has been a tremendous help to me... I wish I could see them live but this would be the next best thing. I have been looking at all kind of other documentaries trying to get any info but this would be it. Very Happy

Here is some more information from the Reelin' In the Years website:

http://www.reelinintheyears.com/news.php

If anyone is in California next month, please note the following...............

"On September 22, 2011 the film will have its world-wide premiere at the American Cinematheque’s Aero Theatre in Santa Monica, Calif.,

Graham Nash and Allan Clarke, along with the producers, will take part in a panel discussion immediately following the screening."

The licensing deal with Eagle Vision is only for the Hollies DVD. Completed documentaries by The Pretty Things and Manfred Mann remain in limbo until some DVD company is willing to pay the asking price of "Reelin' in The Years Productions".
