Whilst looking at the Amazon site for the Bus Stop/Stop Stop Stop CD, I came across a CD & DVD package being released on the 11th April - The Hollies - Lost Broadcasts, sounds interesting.... It's on the Gonzo label - is this an ok label? Does anyone know what it's all about? There are 16 tracks with a lot of songs being repeated, eg; Sorry Suzanne 4 times, I don't know whether all the tracks are on the DVD as well.

It is a DVD/CD package, with some important historic video clips we need in addition to the ones we already have. I guess the CD is just the video audio.

So Knut, this release is legitimate, then? Not some kind of boot or semi-bootleg?

The "Gonzo" label is legitimate. The company was previously known as "Voiceprint", a progressive rock specialist. The change of name is due to a change in ownership.

The "Lost Broadcasts" series consists mostly of material recorded for Germany's "Beat Club" television show, but, amazingly, for many of the artists, the compilers have found material that was videotaped, but never broadcast. And for songs that were broadcast, these newly discovered tapes have yielded better quality sound and picture than what was seen previously.

In addition to The Hollies, other artists in this CD + DVD series(to be released in April & May) are The Byrds, The Nice, Richie Havens, Eric Burdon, Fotheringay, Ten Years After & The Incredible String Band.

That's bad news - the place I've ordered it from has just changed the release date from the 11th to the 18th.

Well, amazon.co.uk has told me they'll notify me when they have a release date.

When you add this to recent DVD releases we've seen plus what I think will be a very important release from "Reeling In The Years," it's pretty amazing how much video product will have come out on the Hollies in the past few years.

"Reelin' in The Years" went totally silent about the second phase of releases in their "British Invasion" DVD series. Certainly, the first group of discs("Small Faces", "Dusty Springfield", "Herman's Hermits" & "Gerry & The Pacemakers") were all superb.

A second phase of releases was to include The Hollies, Manfred Mann & The Pretty Things, but despite substantial licensing & compiling work that was done towards these discs, they were never released, going into a limbo from which they may not emerge.
