Is it the same venue as 2010?

I haven't seen any details of Oslo 2011 yet.

Welcome back to Oslo, 45 years after the 1966 show, Tony, Bobby and Graham!

If anyone has been wondering why I wrote a welcome to Graham as well, it was not because I expect him to appear with the Hollies in Norway in September. However, he has an Oslo show with David Crosby in October. What a coincidence,

The ticket sales indicator for the Oslo show is expected to turn yellow - which means few tickets left - shortly. The Trondheim show is close to sold out already.

Hey Knut, can you educate me about the Hollies and Scandinavia, please?

Historically, has the group toured there pretty much every year? And when they do, will they appear in all of Denmark, Swedon, and Norway? While they're at it, will they usually visit Finland, too (yes, I've been told that is NOT part of Scandinavia)? Are the Hollies popular in all four countries?

Are the vast majority of Scandinavians fluent in English such that British and American music acts face no language barriers?

Is there any resentment that UK or US performers are pushing home-grown talent out of the spotlight, stifling your own bands?

Just curious. Thanks in advance.

The Hollies have toured Norway in 1966, 1977 and 1986. One single festival appearance in the southwest on a summer ballad festival in 2004. Then I succeeded in getting them here for 2 full shows last year.

In Sweden however, they regularly toured the folk parks in the sixties, and became immensely popular, The had six number one hits there! More info on my homepage: http://home.online.no/~kskyberg/holliesinsweden.cfm

In Denmark, they have done some festival and oldies dates over the last ten years, like they mostly do in Germany nowadays. No full shows for many years, to my knowledge.

Finland is a Nordic but not a Scandinavian country. The Hollies have not been there many times I guess.

In all Nordic countries people have English as their second language, so that is no problem. We usually catch most of the stage banter.

Norwegian bands are used to getting abroad acts here, they do not oppose that. Here are other acts appearing at Sentrum scene, Oslo this year:
Joan Baez, Emmylou Harris, Bryan Ferry, Brian Wilson, Yes, Tori Amos, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, Elvis Costello, Melissa Horn.

They did a full show in Aarhus may 2003 with Carl Wayne and i think that was the best Hollies concert i have attended.
