As you may be aware, Allan Clarke's first solo album "My Real Name is 'Arold" has been released on CD by the French label "Magic", but, because the label has a questionable reputation, I should ask how the sound quality is. Is it from a tape source, or is "Magic" dubbing from vinyl? Some fans have noted that "Magic" overlooked a non-L.P. B-side from these sessions.
Actually, I should start a thread about the questionable things that "Magic" has done to The Hollies' music. The only full-quality, properly mastered Hollies-related product from "Magic" is the Terry Sylvester 2-CD set...because Terry personally compiled it, ensuring the use of quality tapes. |
