If one looks at the Hollies concert schedule, it appears the band is committed to their March 14, 2010 date at the London Palladium. Therefore, my guess is that Tony and Bobby will not be in New York on March 15 for the RRHOF induction ceremony. If any of the other band members attend, in all likelihood it would be Graham, Allan, Terry and Bernie accepting the induction. To me, it would be so disappointing to think Tony and Bobby would have to miss this milestone event. I think it might result in the band not performing that evening. It would have been great to see the Palladium show postponed to a future date ... but then, I'm not on their management team .... Very Happy

You are right Holliesfan, I heard Tony Hicks being interviewed on radio tonight. Neither Tony or Bobby will be going to New York due to the commitment of playing at London Palladium. Apparently Graham phoned them to ask. If I heard right, they will be doing 4 songs live on the night.

Bobby & Tony do not "have" to miss the ceremony.

They're making a choice and letting us all know forever, in case there was any doubt, where their priorities lay.

With all due respect Frostina, I personally feel the Hollies knew of their RRHOF induction and had ample time to have negotiated a date change for the Palladium concert. It's so disappointing that Tony and Bobby will not be on stage with Graham, Allan, Tony and Bernie. One can say what they want about the way the RRHOF conducts business (nomination process), but to be inducted is a true milestone for any performing artist, and one that should be celebrated. I also understand the nature of the current Hollies concert schedule and the commitments that go along with it. The bottom line is ..... this is a once in a lifetime event for the Hollies and I'm surprised better arrangements could not have been made. I loudly applaud the RRHOF Hollies and at the same time, tip my hat to the current band for their continuance of great music. The Hollies are, without a doubt, legendary and their historic musical story remains unfinished.

I was actually far more than fair, and further I was exceptionally polite under the circumstances in my reply because this site is owned by the band.

I'm Very disappointed Tony and Bobby won't be in N.Y. for the RRHOF induction ceremony.I understand and respect their desire to honor a commitment made to the London Palladium, but couldn't something be worked out ?
If it is truly impossible to reschedule the Palladium show, what about a live satellite hookup ?

My sense is that's the approach Tony and Bobby will opt for...satellite... Sad

To be fair I thought sparty's comment was reasonable - i think they are being clear. Perhaps they don't rate the RRHOF as much as other people - they've had to wait a hell of a long time, and they're putting the UK fans first.

I do find it very very odd that they (whoever it may be) could be thinking about doing any live songs though, without Bobby and Tony.

Perhaps Graham, Allan and Terry can sing a few even though Allan's voice (as I understand it) might wilt under the strain. I'm sure they can find a key where Allan might best fit.

A fine choice. A big thanks to Steve for working so hard to get our boys in there.
