It is so great that the band is finally being recognized by the mainstream media again here in conjunction with the Hall of Fame deal. You folks there who have access to seeing the band play on a regular basis are pretty lucky. I can not fathom why the Hollies never visit us here any more. Maybe that'll change next year.
I've personally been waiting to meet Tony since 1965. If the band hits town here in any way shape or form, the first thing I'm gonna do if I get a chance to meet Tony is have him show me face to face what the heck those first two chords are on "So Lonely" !! I asked Graham a couple of years ago and he said "no idea". That is the strangest set of guitar chords ala tremelo that I've ever heard in the history of pop music. Tony without a doubt is one of the most inventive players in pop history and I hope we here in LA get to see the band play again ... soon ! |
