Hi Peej,
Believe it or not, I had a dream about Allan Clarke about a week ago.
It's the first time I have ever had a dream about anybody famous. He seemed to be fine, had this redish hair colour that looked really bad, hey they say you dream in B&W well it's not true. I have heard that his albums will be on cd too, I have a couple of his albums and in many ways it's just like the Hollies. Fondest memories of Allan.
Bye for now,
Anthony

Is it true that Allan has a brother Alan that used to play professional football for Leeds United?

Allan Clarke, the footballer, played for Leeds United from 1969 to 1978.

He is not related to Allan Clarke of The Hollies.

Our Allan has a brother called Frank.

Regards Rob

This is where the confusion may arise, because there was also a Frank Clark who was a professional footballer and then a manager, same era as the other Allan.

That's right. Frank Clark played for Nottingham Forest and in later years became their Manager from 1993-1996.

He too is no relation to our Allan.

Regards, Robs

I think it would be unlikely too that a parent would call their children the same names.

Helloooo...Nice little forum you got going here, Rob! And emoticons! What fun!! Very Happy Razz Shocked (ooh, like that one)

Anyways...My point is...Allan's real name is 'arold -- I mean, Harold...So they don't all have the same name...Not like George Foreman...or Jacko's sons...lol...

I was also under the impression that he came from a very large family; more than just a bro...No idea where I heard that...

And I also read on the Yahoo forum that he was living in one of the Carolinas in the US - North or South, I dunno...Beautiful area...on the ocean and warm...

Like Peej, I also read somewhere that Allan was the youngest of 6 children. I also read that he does have 2 brothers called Frank and Alan and that Frank managed The Hollies for a while when they first started out in early 1963. Question Rolling Eyes Smile

Bye for now, Susie

I know it says "one of six children" in the Goldmine article but as far as I am aware, Allan only had one brother Frank, and two sisters, Lillian and Cynthia.

Regards, Rob

Razz So Allan only has 1 brother and 2 sisters, well by my calculations that makes him one of 4 children not 6 which leaves me to one conclusion, I can't always believe everything I read or hear. Thanks Rob for clarifying this for everyone who thought he had 2 brothers. Laughing

Bye for now, Susie
