The Oslo shows have now been mentioned 4 times on national radio during the popular Saturday program Pop quiz, and I expect a feature in Norway's largest morning newspaper the coming week.
I am looking forward not only to the concerts but also to meet up with all of you coming from different countries. Unfortunately I am too busy on Saturday to arrange a meeting for you, but those of you queing up on Friday at around 6 might want to agree on somewhere to meet the next day. There are quite a few nice English pubs in Oslo. One is just behind the Town hall, not far from Hard Rock Cafe, that is on the main street, Karl Johans gate - running from the Central railway station up to the King's castle. During the day you should also stroll down to Aker brygge on the sea, where there are numerous restaurants and pubs. Not the cheapest ones, though. Behind the Akershus fortress there's a traditional Irish pub, The Dubliner. |

Thanks Knut. We're very much looking forward to the concerts and visiting Oslo.
I'll be hoping to find a pub that will be showing my favourite football team, Nottingham Forest on TV on Saturday afternoon. They are playing in the Championship Play-Off semi final against Blackpool. It is live on Sky here in the UK next Saturday so hopefully one of the pubs in Oslo may be able to pick it up.
That would make a great week-end - two Hollies concerts and a Forest match! |

They write that my team's (Vålerenga) pub, Bohemen and also Highbury usually send Sky sports:
Oslo: Bohemen, Arbeidergata 2
Highbury, Bogstadveien 50 |

Hi Håkan
I looked for you but you could not be found.
The were many people from all over the world at the gig and I hope they all had a great time.
I met up with, John & Helen Truman, Carrie Anne and Tony Marsden from England, An from Belgium, Simon Smith from Australia, Lenka from the Czech Republic, Goran Antfelt, Stefan Olander, Bo Nordestedt and Sune Erikson from Sweden, Ove Pedersen from Denmark, Tore and, of course, Knut from Norway.
It was quite an international event.
Håkan. I hope you had a nice evening. |

Here's a link to the 2-page feature we got in Norway's largest morning newspaper on Friday:
Look here
Probably one of the best newspaper articles I have read about the Hollies for years.
Thanks to Rob for allowing the newspaper to use such a good photo for illustration.
And to Tony for giving the telephone interview. The journalist was allowed backstage after the first show and was well received. |

Glad you enjoyed the shows, Håkan!
I have a feeling it would be wise to get the Hollies to Sweden next time, they were so big in your country in the golden days, and Dalhalla was really too far north. I would say Gothenburg (Gøteborg), Malmø and maybe Stockholm.
We already have Göran i Gøteborg, Bo in Malmø, do we have a good contact in Stockholm?
Unfortunately I was unable to talk to Steffan during the evening(s), I apologize for that.
Have a nice afternoon. |

Yes they were very big in Sweden in the 60`s,they had 19th hits on the TIO I
TOPP and 6 of them was number one,and they did a lot of TV such as DROP IN
and POPSIDE and more.I saw them in Dalhalla too it was very good, but OSLO was
much better the band are more complete now,and what a great arena sentrum is.
Hope they come to Sweden and norway next year.A live CD from the show would be
great.
Have a nice evening.HÅKAN. |
