Just wanted to let our friends "Down Under" know that Terry will be touring there for two weeks in October/November. (For those familiar with another former member of the group who toured there 10 years ago to much controversy, don't worry...he will be billed properly as - "Terry Sylvester formerly of The Hollies".)
Joey Molland of Badfinger will be opening the shows. Since they are both from Liverpool, England, the theme is actually "The Legends of Liverpool 40th Anniversary Tour", since Terry & Joey both joined their respective hit-making groups in 1969.
The backing band will consist of longtime pro US musicians from The Grass Roots, Ambrosia and nationally touring Beatles tribute bands. All have vocal capabilities that will do both Badfinger and Hollies classics justice.
These dates have not been officially announced yet, and tickets are NOT available yet, either. I will check back here in a week or so, to let you know more details. You can always check Terry's website, too - www.terrysylvester.com
Potential dates are still being added, but here are the confirmed ones so far:
Thu Oct 29 - The Gov, Adelaide
Sat Oct 31 - Burswood Theatre, Perth
Sun Nov 1 - Revesby Workers Club - Sydney
Wed Nov 4 - Newcastle Wests - NSW
Thu Nov 5 - Shell Harbour Workers Club
Fri Nov 6 - North Sydney Leagues
Sat Nov 7 - Rooty Hill RSL, Sydney
Sun Nov 8 - The Palms @ Crown Casino, Melbourne |

Having seen both Terry and Joey in concert, I have to say that this is a show that people should not miss. |

I found out Today about Terry coming to Australia when I read the Entertainment guide in a magazine from Rooty Hill RSL club and I am going to see him on the 7 November and I can't wait.
I am a member of Rooty Hill RSL and every 2 months they send me their magazine so I always know what shows/concerts they have.

The Rooty Hill RSL is only 15 minutes away from me.
I'm tempted. |

Terry Sylvester opened the show at Shellharbour Worker's Club, a club south of Wollongong, NSW, Australia. He played a total of twelve songs, his set a mixture comprising of Hollies' songs 'Carrie Anne', 'I'll Be Your Baby Tonight', "Just One Look', 'The Air That I Breathe', Too Young To Be Married,' 'Long Cool Woman, 'He Ain't Heavy ... He's My Brother. , A Griffin - Bread song - 'Make It With You', a Beatles song - Til There Was You', a Gerry Marsden and the Pacemakers hit -Don't Let The Sun Catch You Crying' plus Hippy Hippy Shake. Interspersed between the songs were Terry's stories of the times and some jokes. It was a great polished performance and thoroughly enjoyable. His vocal quality has certainly not diminshed with time. He had a meet and greet at the end of the concert. He signed a photo that I had brought with me that was taken when he was on tour with The Hollies and played at Sydney's Hordern Pavilion in 1974. He signed it after it took his attention. I was also lucky enough to have had a photo taken with him and with Joey Molland also.
Molland was second on the bill and he played eight songs. He opened with 'Baby Blue' and his guitar playing was truly skilful. He played three songs in succession before he conversed with the audience. His final song was 'No Natter What'.
Terry came on for the encores and he and Joey took turns on the lead singing with two rockers - 'Slow Down' and 'I Saw Her Standing There'. |

Would "Slow Down" be the Beatles cover of the Larry Williams song, or the Hollies' track from the Romany album? |

By the way, I read that the Melbourne show was canceled.
If anyone has plans of attending, I'd suggest that you first call the theater and confirm that the performance is still on. |

Slow Down was the Beatles song composed by Larry Williams. |

I came across this in one of the local rags recently in relation to TS's show at Rooty Hill RSL:
http://www.box.net/shared/d4m18xb7kd
Obviously the writer wasn't clued up enough to realize that TS wasn't the lead singer of The Hollies.
I thought it may be of interest to those here anyway.
Cheers.
