After reading Agneta´s review of the Hollies concert at the Orchard on april 12th I can´t understand why the group doesn´t perform Very last day at every concert! It´s even more surprising after hearing the perfomance of the fantastic song at Dalhalla in august 2006. It was one of the highlights of that evening.
Even if you Brits and Americans didn´t understand (or to be true; didn´t get the chance to understand, as it wasn´t a single in Your countries) what great song that is. It´s a real highlight in the Hollies repetoir!
P.S Another forgotten song is Too many people. If you don´t remember it, Please listen to it again. It´s on The Hollies (w/b) album from 1965. A great album.... |

You are so right Bonus. It was when i heard Very Last Day on the radio i became a Holliesfreak. So when Tony started to play that song in Dalhalla 40 years later it was very emotional. |

Hej Bonus och Sune!
Glad you read my review. Yes, Very Last Day is my teenage daughter's favourite Hollies song (ever since she heard me playing it on the piano, surprisingly enough), and her friends like it too, so it seems to appeal to young people (well, young Swedish people anyway).
I've always liked it too, especially in concert, though not quite as much as Stewball.
Too Many People is also a nice song.
By the way, aren't those lyrics a bit religious too? ( "That's how He planned it"...)

"Stewball" is a great track, one that REALLY shows off those harmonies. Wasn't that a hit in Sweden? Anyway, when the band toured in '83, they had a record signing at Tower Records in New York City, and I asked Graham if there would be any "surprises" at the show. Then I mentioned "Stewball" and he acknowledged the song. |

"Hollies 1965" is my favourite Hollies album between 1963 and 1966. "Very Last Day" and "Too Many People" are two very good reasons for my choice, as well as the harmony vocals on "That's My Desire" and the rockin' way they play "Mickey's Monkey". Bobby's drumming is so powerful on it.
And "Stewball" is my favourite song on the follow-up album "Would You Believe". I love their harmony vocals. |

I'm also a big fan of the Very Last Day, love the clip from the Beat club (I think that;'s the show), the one that Graham has a little interview before the number. |

It is a good song, I don't why it wasn't a UK single. It should of been released instead of If I Needed Someone. |
