Yeah I caught the show. Graham was on a telephone link from New York and spoke to Stuart Maconie. He talked about being at the inauguration of Barack Obama and he was very moved by his speech. Obviously on there to talk about the box set-Apparantly out of the sixty odd tracks-Hollies, CSNY, and Graham's solo work, thirty odd are demo's and unreleased tracks-very interesting. Sadly, Graham talked about coming back to Manchester for the funeral of his sister. He also spoke about Salford-incidently where I live and said he could not recognise it and would hate to drive around there-IT'S NOT THAT BAD !!! It was quite a short interview but I enjoyed it-I don't know if it is going to be on Listen Again-Do you know Rob ?
Thanks for the info

Yeah, thanks for the report Carole, and thanks for the link Rob!
I managed to catch the last part of the interview, right after they played Marrakesh Express, and I got to hear Wild Tales, and King Midas. Nice to hear Grahams voice. |

Yes I think it is online via the iPlayer until the next show replaces it, ie 7 days. It is still there now as I have it on.
Try Here

Cheers Bonus and Agneta, Thanks Rob
After they finished the interview with the track King Midas In Reverse the two DJ's Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie started talking about the interview with Graham. They mentioned that they had heard that Crosby, Stills and Nash had actually done a version of KMIR. Is this true ? |

Well, it's more or less true.
On their 1971 live album "4 Way Street" (CSNY) it is track 12 on CD 1, the acoustic CD. But it is less CSNY because the last four songs (Track 12-15) are solo songs by CSNY and played and sung by each member on his own. Graham does "King Midas In Reverse" (Track 12), David Crosby does "Laughing" (Track 13), Stephen Stills "Black Queen" (Track 14) and Neil Young a medley of his early hits "The Loner/Cinnamon Girl/Down By The River" (Track 15). So it's not sung with harmony vocals.
But CSN have done a great version of "Man With No Expression (Horses Through A Rainstorm)" which is on their 4 CD Box Set. |
