Thanks Rob, would love to hear what happens on the show, what they sing, or if it's an interview.

Great, Rob!
It's a bit strange we do not get more new TV appearances from the group. German TV was certainly good at giving us Hollies live or promo videos for many years.

Wonderful news.

You can say that again, maybe somebody can tape it and share it with those who live all over the world.

These are great news. Hollies on SAT 1. This is a dream coming true.
But something surprises me. The show "Die Hit Giganten" has topics for every show. We already had 1960s hits, 1970s hits and many more. The topic of the show is "The best cover-songs". Please, don't tell me that The Hollies have missed the chance to perform their countless own hits on any other show just to come and sing a song by another artist. That would be quite disappointing after all the excitement. I was looking forward to see them perform "Bus Stop" or "He Ain't Heavy" or one of their other great own songs.
And I still ask myself how they will play. Most bands play on playbacks on that show. Will The Hollies have a special playback of an old song with Pete singing lead ? I don't think that will Pete will mime on an Allan Clarke playback. Or what do you think ?

One classic from 1974 and one from 2006. The show is being recorded earlier in the week.

OK but that doesn't answer my question. Why on a show with cover songs ? And what do you mean with one song from 1974 and one from 2006 ? "The Air That I Breathe" and one from "Staying Power" ? But those songs wouldn't be cover songs and wouldn't fit into the show with the topic of cover songs on this special "Hit Giganten" show".

well, The Air That I Breathe is a cover and all the songs on Staying Power are covers or at least not self written. the three Iglesias tunes on Staying Power are definitely covers - don't know if the rest was recorded earlier by someone else.

So, The Hollies are on German TV tonight. But why aren't they mentioned as a live act on that show in the short info on that programme ? The Bay City Rollers and The Troggs ("Love Is All Around") are mentioned but no Hollies. Are they really there and if that is so why aren't they mentioned ? I think they are much more famous than The Troggs, aren't they ?
It hurts a bit to see them not mentioned in the line of stars.

The write up appears to be the same for one of the other weeks so it may be a mistake.

However, I am watching the programme now, which was recorded earlier in the week in Berlin, and The Hollies were advertised at the beginning of the show.

I am recording direct to my PC so will be able to lay it down on DVD.
