What would be your favourite/most treasured piece of Hollies memorabilia?

I don't know if it's "memorabilia," but I do have copies of every Imperial Hollies LP, including the impossible to find first release of Here I Go Again. And, having a vinyl copy of Out On The Road, which I stumbled across in an Ann Arbor record store around 1983 was pretty sweet, too. If you exclude actual music recordings, I guess I can only list a bunch of Billboard advertisements from the 1960's promoting various Hollies singles along with photos that I took from the third row of the Hollies in concert in 1983 - at the show that was recorded for actual release, as a matter of fact.

Of course, after the photo of the drum kit, I'm almost embarrassed to post anything.

Sorry Sparty, but being a fan of Bob and his drumming for many years, it really is a treasured item for me.

I have many more items but don't want to rub it in (too much Smile )

Thanks Rob, now that's hard to beat. Okay I would say my favourite bit of Hollies memorabilia is a signed photo from the late 90's. one of the band also wrote "To Anthony be good", another favourite is a signed photo from Terry Sylvester from the late 70's.
There is not a lot of Hollies memorabilia about really, I have also collected over the years tour programmes, tour posters, a favourite is a tour poster from their 1976 Aussie tour plus I love to collect video clips.
But as I said my favourite is the signed Hollies photo.
Now I find Robs item hard to top, well done mate.

Hi Anthony and Sparty

Anthony, if your pic says "Be Good" on it it is almost certainly Bobs writing.

Nothing to be topped or embarrassed about. We all have out treasured bits and I am not showing mine to score any points.

What is important is what an item means to the individual.

I have collected memorablia really since the 70's when the actual band seemed to disappear off the radar for some time, even over here.

And yes, I agree absolutely that I am in a priviliged position to be able to continue collecting bits and bobs but I have to say that the majority of it has come through auctions and sales, even before ebay, and has cost me a fortune.

I would actually love to display it somewhere, sometime as it does give me pleasure to be able to share things with others. It is why I started The Hollies website in 1997 and the forum.

Another item I have that may be of interest is in this pic?

It looks better on Bobby than it does on me!!

Hi Rob,
I have seen your Bobby Elliott Hat, I saw a photo of Christine with it on, can't remember where I saw the photo but there she was with it on, I think it was taken when she came to the UK and payed a visit to your place.
It's great that items can mean so much to us the fans, I think it's Bobby's writing on the photo. Funny when I got the photo and read the "Anthony be good bit", I thought the Hollies know me for a split moment.

Don't know if these photos will turn out, it's from our home extention, they are my study/computer room and it shows a couple of my Hollies tour posters as well as the two signed photos I was talking about,

all the best.
Anthony

Nice photos, Anthony!

And Rob, you outbid me for Bobby's hat at the auction at the Harrogate convention some years ago!

I'll dig out some of my memorabilia and post them here later.

Anthony, that is definitely Bob's message to "be good". He usually takes a little more time to put something other than his sig. That can and does make a world of difference and the item even more special.

Those posters look very familiar. I was at both gigs and the 1996 one is a shot of mine. Did you get them from me or from Germany?? I still have many posters left to get rid of.

John, sorry about that hat but I did rather want it.

Thanks John, I'm really pleased with my Hollies items.
Rob I got the tour posters off ebay about 5 years ago,
The extra little time Bobby takes to write something really makes a big difference, I know it made me feel very special.
many thanks,
Anthony

Hi Anthony,

what surprises me the most is your 30th anniversary tour poster. They really came to Düsseldorf, Germany for a whole anniversary show and not just a 30 minute best of oldie show programme ? Since I am a fan (1998) I only know of those short shows on oldie festivals.

This is just five years before I became a fan and just half an hour from my hometown.
If this is really true why have they given up coming again ? That would be a dream come true. A whole show near my hometown.

Wonder why Allan Clarke is toting a guitar in the photo?

Apart from LCW i didn't think he played guitar on any of the bands hits?

Could he really play or was he just a 'strummer'?
