Donīt be angry Rob, youīre doing a very respectable job with this site. But I think itīs fantastic that so many finds their way to this forum.
A direct button on the main page, please! And there will be many more messages! |

It could be Rob's way of keeping out the riff raff. It only took me two months to find the forum. So, Rob, you might want to hide it a little bit deeper. |

The direct link was removed from the front page because of too much negativity being spouted by some forum members.
For a forum set up "In appreciation" of The Hollies, this was neither wanted or needed and did nothing to enhance the website.
It certainly was not a good advert for the band.
Thankfully, things have improved of late and I might be able to display the link again in the future. |

I'll avoid saying too much on this, but to have it not so prominent would be a good idea to deter spammers I'd have thought. |

Robot spammers are no longer a real problem since the introduction of the code needed to register but there is still the occasional idiot gets through. |

I know another couple of boards where the admin has to routinely delete 20 - 30 fake accounts daily to avoid spamming. There really needs to be some global effort against this complete nuisance on the net. |

I was doing up to 50 a day and when I came home after some time away there were hundrerds of them.
All had to be checked before manual deletion.
Now there is just the odd one or two a month. |

Thanks for the reaction and explanation! I just wanted more real Hollies-fans should find their way to this forum. The Hollies are worth it.
Why donīt you give the directbutton a try again and see what happens. |

It will only die if people stop posting.
I think it is quiet for two reasons.
Firstly, The Hollies are not actually touring at the moment except for the odd gig so it is very quiet.
Secondly, most of the earlier posts came from just a very few posters and were mainly of a negative kind. I was told that once the main protagonists were stopped that many other posters would begin to show.
Alas, this has not happened and it may be that I close down the forum through lack of interest.
However, we will have to wait and see. I am rather hoping that once the tour starts in the Spring, things will pick up somewhat. There is of course, the new CD which will be released to coincide with the tour and I am sure that will provide a good topic of conversation. |

Please don't close down the forum, Rob.
You have done (and are still doing) a fantastic job in setting it up and keeping it going.
I'm sure you are right. When the 2009 tour starts and the new CD is released, people should start posting again. |

I second that! And I really hope that the tour and the new cd will help to increase the activity!! |

I third that (if you can do that!). It doesn't matter if there are quiet periods - there will be times when things pick up. |

Many thanks for your support guys. It is for this reason that I do the work and have kept the forum going thus far (despite the problems and hassle it can bring!!). |

I agree it's quiet as nothing is going on in the Hollies camp, ok the new recordings are being worked on but we know little on that plus no real tours.
Posting things just for the sake of it, sometimes is not worth it, it's like going over old ground again.
I'm really pleased we have this site, even with the little news we are getting, we did find out about Bobby's fall plus he took his own photo to show how bad the fall really was.
Keep up the good work Rob, I check this site every day. |
