Having got myself a Pioneer combined SACD/DVDaudio player and a full surround set I was lucky to pick up a DVDaudio record released by Sanctuary in the US, called The very best of...the marmalade, containing 14 great songs. Highly recommended! (Beware DVDaudio does not play on ordinary DVD players.) I have difficulties in picking out a favourite, but maybe Rainbow in Graham's Butterfly style?

In the same series by Sanctuary there is a Searchers compilation - including Have you ever loved somebody in true 5.1 - proving we could have had 5.1 mixes of the old Hollies songs from the 60s. By the way this was also shown by Tony's son when he remixed the Beatles for the Love album, the DVDaudio is so good that even I who is not a big Beatles fan was taken away.

These 3 DVDaudio releases, and you should add Graham Nash's Songs for survivors are enough to justify getting yourself a DVDaudio player and a 5.1 set.

Reflections of My Life is one of my favourite songs of all time. Don;t you just love the harmonies provided by the unfashionable-looking guitarist on Dean's right?

One can only wonder how The Hollies singing this song would be. Wow.

I got myself a superb DVD audio compilation by Marmalade - I really recommend that one! (Same series as the Searchers, featuring Have you ever loved somebody).

Why can't we have a 5.1 remix of the Hollies greatest hits? Tony's son surely did a good for the Beatles. Could his father please ask him that favour?
