As a keyboard player myself, I was wondering what other songs rate because of their opening keyboard part. Two that come to my mind are Lady Madonna by The Beatles for the piano, A Whiter Shade Of Pale by Procol Harum for the organ. |

I can think of 2 songs with a good keyboard start. I can't Tell The Bottom From The Top by The Hollies and Ob-La-Di-Ob-La-Da by The Beatles, both for the piano. |

there are many... but one that I immediately thought of is "Watching The Wheels" by John Lennon. It's simple but effective. And talking about John Lennon you shouldn't forget "Imagine" or "Jealous Guy". |

Yep, it's John's "Jealous Guy" with the most beautiful piano intro for me and "Light My Fire" with the unforgettable opening by Ray Manzarek.
But I also love the first minute of harmonica, piano and the GREAT Allan Clarke on "Writing On The Wall" (and the rest of the song, too, of course). There is also guitar but the piano is the most beautiful part of that particular song next to Allan's voice. |
