It's sooooo quiet Crying or Very sad Where is everybody Question Anyway, 1st April will be the 25th Anniversary of me seeing the hollies live for the first time. Ten years earlier I remember seeing the hollies in a TV concert on BBC 2 on a Saturday night in April 69. Does any one else have any memories of the Europe 79 tour or the 69 TV show Question

Hi Gordon,
I saw the Hollies 29 years ago for the first time. I remember it well. I went with my best mate and his niece who I had the hots for big time but was too shy to do anything about it. The years just go so quickly.
Sorry don't know anything about the BBC show or the '79 tour.
See ya mate,

I first saw The Hollies (at The Hordern Pavillion in Sydney) 28 years ago and they were absolutely brilliant. I still remember it as though it happened yesterday. And at the time I had this giant sized crush on Bernie and seeing him in the flesh (instead of in pictures) made me fall in love with even more. Smile

Like Anthony, I don't know anything about the 69 T.V. show or the 79 tour either, sorry.

All The Best

Susie

Hi Gordon, would the BBC2 programme have been Colour Me Pop? strange name I know. It used to feature a different group or artist every week. I remember going on and on at my mum & dad to get a colour tv arial for the prog. Laughing

Hi Annette. It was a colour broadcast but I think the show was simply called the hollies in concert. It was shown on the 29th April 1969.

Hi Gordon,
Do you think anybody from the Hollies has copies of all these past shows. I have heard stories here that the big TV networks just threw out alot of old shows when they changed to a new type format.
If only they had videos back then.

I'm pretty sure I've seen live versions of Sorry Suzanne, Bus Stop and I'll Be Your Baby Tonight in black and white on various music programmes on UK TV. I remember a show - Pop Quiz, hosted by Chris Tarrant on BBC1 in the mid 90's - when Allan Clarke was a guest, they played BS on the closing titles and the cameras were behind the band looking at the audience and it was a large theatre/TV studio with all the folk clapping and singing along.

That's right James, the show does exist. Clips were featured on the RocknRoll years 1969 as well. There is also a very good Canadian TV show from 1976 featuring some hits and some tracks from Another Night and Write On.
