Hi all,
The last two days I thought I'd play a couple of Hollies cd's on the way to work, two I have not heard for a long time, well day one I played "Confessions of the mind".
I could not beleive how good this album was, some fantastic songs. The lads penned some beautiful numbers, "Lady please" is a brilliant anti war song, Too Young to be married, well it was a number one here so that tells you how good it was.
Just love the words to Little girl and Isn't it Nice? and Confessions is a masterpiece.
Day two I picked Distant Light, to be honest didn't enjoy this album as much, still some stand out songs, One question does Terry sing "Pull down the blind?"
With the Album Allan seems to have a little bit different type of vocal, a more harder edge I feel.
Anyway I enjoyed hearing both these albums again.
Anthony

Hi Anthony - yeah TS sings Pull Down The Blind - he's double tracked on most of it. And yes, Clarke really does seem to have found a harder edge to his voice during Distant Light. A truly great album.

I also love both albums. They're very different in style but that's what makes them so interesting. Two of my favourites not yet mentioned are "To Do With Love" and "A Little Thing Like Love" on "Distant Light" and the nice harmonies and guitar work on "Isn't It Nice" on "Confessions".
GREAT ALBUMS!!!!
