Wow, a great uptempo version of Curly Billy and an extremely beautiful unplugged version of Sandy. I remember them playing it at the Albert Hall. It's a great version. Pete's voice, his guitar playing, the keyboard orchestration, all of it makes it a version that is very emotional. I really would like to have both versions on CD and DVD. Thanks for sharing, Knut. |

Latest Youtube videos include "Gold Record", which is part two of an appearance on the US TV daytime gabfest The Mike Douglas Show, from 1968. The band is presented with their American Gold records, followed by a great "Dear Eloise" performance with live vocals. (Part One, which I presume will show up soon, has the band doing "On A Carousel" and "Butterfly"). Any Hollies clip with live vocals is a real gem, this one is no exception.
There's also an '80s video of "Stand By Me", which is incorrectly listed as "Stendbyme". |

Thanks, John! That's the Shirelles singing. They're a girl group from Passaic, New Jersey, USA. They were John Lennon's favorite girl group, and the Beatles even recorded some of their songs: "Baby, it's You" and "Boys." The song I used is called "You're Under Arrest." |

Yes, I remember them, Vrinda.
I think their biggest hit over here was 'Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow'.
Keep up the good work with the photos! |

Very nicely done, Vrinda. You found the perfect song to go with all those lovely pics. And there's even some Mikael in there. You know, when I first first saw that guy some three and a half months ago I was not impressed. But he has really grown on me.
Great job! |

Thanks, Connie! It's been a real challenge just finding these photos. There's not a lot of photos of the Hollies to be found when you do an Internet search, so you have to search for old magazine and newspaper articles. It was fun, but a real treasure hunt! Yes, Mikael has grown on me, too. He's a real Swedish sweetie! |

Incidentally, I sent a link of that video to Toby Clarke last month, and he said that the next time he saw him, he was going to show it to his dad. I never heard back from him on that, but there's still time. |
