13 August is the release date for two more UK CDs: "Romany" and "Buddy Holly". I imagine there will be no bonus tracks, since the others didn't have any (aside from the mono mixes for the albums up to "Butterfly".) |

Yeah, both have been released on Magic, Romany must have been released about 7 years ago. |

These are UK EMI releases, continuing with their CD release program that last ended with "Distant Light". These are not French issues, these are British EMI. Out 13 August. |

Buddy Holly tracklist:
Due for release on 13th August is the UK edition of 'Buddy Holly', their covers album from 1980. It includes two bonus tracks which feature the band playing with Buddy Holly himself! (Trickery of course!)
Peggy Sue / Wishing / Love's Made A Fool Of You / Take Your Time / Heartbeat / Tell Me How / Think It Over / Maybe Baby / Midnight Shift / I'm Gonna Love You Too / Peggy Sue Got Married / What To Do / That'll Be The Day / It Doesn't Matter Anymore / Everyday / Reprise / Take Your Time / Peggy Sue Got Married
I never knew they did Take Your Time in '95 too.... |

James, are you sure that "Take Your Time" isn't their mid-60's performance of that song (which is, incidentally, much more exciting than the track from 1980). |

Hi Sparty - I'm just going with what Key Mail Order have said. Can anyone confirm? Take Your Time certainly isn't in the session listings in 1995. |

The only other Hollies recording of Buddy's "Take Your Time" is that from
1 March 1966 by the "Mark One" Hollies featuring Graham Nash and Eric Haydock, which opened side two of "Would You Believe".
It can be safely assumed this earlier version will be the Bonus Track. |

Hmmm... that means that except for the "Would You Believe" version of "Take your Time" the CD is the same as the one released by Magic Records just a couple of months ago. I'm not sure whether this release is one anybody really needs, also because the quality of the Magic Records release of "Buddy Holly" is great
That makes the "Romany" release with those two unreleased songs and the hopefully much better sound quality than the Magic Records release much more interesting. |
