I have seen on Amazon that "A Crazy Steal" which is the only album which hasn't been released by Magic Records yet will finally be released on May, 21st.
These are good news to me because then I will finally have all Hollies LPs on CD. Especially "Feet On The Ground" is a song I really want to have on CD. Others like "Writing On The Wall", "Burn Out", "Hello To Romance", "Amnesty" and "Boulder To Birmingham" had been released on "Long Road Home" before.

Has anybody any information concerning Bonus tracks ? I'm sure that "Crossfire" will be on it because it is the only 1970s single B-side which has not been released as an album Bonus track by Magic yet and it fits into the time 1977/1978 and it was the B-side to the album track "Amnesty". Will there be any other songs on it ?

Based on Magic's history, I'm confident that they'll do a good job and will surely have good b-sides - but only those that have seen a CD issue. I would not count on anything being included that has never been released legitimately on CD.

Crossfire is a lock to be included.

Without studying the list of bonus tracks previously released on Magic discs, I would suggest that Corrine would be a good choice, too, even though it's probably was on the Russian Roulette CD as a bonus, right?

Hey, here's one - how about that demo that's been distributed Wink of the track that was sort of a model for Corrine - the appropriately titled "Maureen." Now, that would be a great tune to finally give an official relealse (but don't overdub it - leave it as is, please). But somehow, I think that it'll be left in the can.

Track records indicate it will only have one bonus track - probably "Crossfire" I would guess...
I think "Distant Light" has still to be issued by Magic records too.

"Maureen" is probably deemed to be just an unfinished demo or a "working version"...thus it's release seems unlikely (shame !),
however it has been brought to EMI's attention so I understand.

hmmm... I do not know of this Maureen tune. How cool . Cool

Coincidentally , my favorite American band* did a song
entitled `Mo'reen' which from the very first time I ever
heard it , I thought "This is some sort of tribute to The
Hollies , and if The Hollies ever recorded it, they would
sing the ____ out of it." Wink

I don't suppose they are the same tune.
But , I thought the coincidence was pretty
astonishing.

Either way , I look forward to A Crazy Steal on compact disc. Mr. Green

Lou, Maureen is indeed an early version of Corrine, which was changed quite a bit in the released version that you know.

Here's a link to an old post that gives away the secret of the song.

Let's fix that link, shall we?

(Well, now you know the article I was looking at right before opening the Hollies site, don't you? I'm not quite sure how that happened)

How does Tubby and the Minnesota basketball
program give away a secret ?
Mr. Green

Tubby hits ground running at Minnesota

By JON KRAWCZYNSKI, AP Sports Writer
May 15, 2007

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- When Tubby Smith left Kentucky for Minnesota in March, he traded basketball royalty for a program in ruin.

Less than two months into the job, he likes what he sees.

"I'm impressed with, No. 1, the level of support -- from facilities to Joel Maturi, from the president, Dr. Bruininks, we have everything in place to be successful," Smith said Tuesday after a news conference touting the launch of the new Big Ten Network. "I think we've had to upgrade some areas and we're in the process of doing that. But it all starts with the person at the top. The face of this program is important to us, and we have to surround ourselves with the type of players we recruit."

Thats the article , that the link goes to Laughing

Lou, I'm sure that you needed to read about a Big 10 coach, since you're in Chicago.

Obviously, when I clicked "copy" it didn't happen, so we got the other article I had been reading.

How was the Tubby article?

Lou,

Coincidentally, The Hollies "Leave Me" always sounds to me like something The Raiders could have had fun with! Echoes of "It's Just Like Me"....

Sorry , not a fan of Golden Gopher hoops ,old sport. Wink

Now that I read the `correct' thread, I recall reading
it in the past, so in the words of the Hollies...
"Thanks for the memories". Very Happy

Strange. I used to be a collector of Paul revere & the Raiders, too. Also Mark Lindsay solo. Maybe they have something in common with the Hollies?

Yep, it is Crossfire that's the bonus track. Release seems to have been delayed again.

Just got my copy from Caiman USA today. Good release, sound not greatly different to that on the release from EMI in the Four More Originals box set but nevertheless nice to have Crossfire tagged on to the end.

Magic does an awesome job. A CRAZY STEAL should have done much better than it did when it came out, but I think if you trace the dates, Clarke left just as the album was being released. So Polydor in the UK and Epic in the US didn't know how to promote it. The solution of both labels was to not promote it at all. Anyway, nice to know that Magic is taking good care of the Hollies legacy.
