I like Baby Come Back, it seems very '60s to me with 3 verses, a middle eight and a guitar solo. Not exactly ground breaking but catchy.

I Agree The band have to be saluted for trying to reach a younger audience , which of course they have every right to do....indeed in this respect The Hollies have never done anything as drastic as some other artists such as say Genesis or The Bee Gees who radically changed their styles....for a time.

Hi Everyone Exclamation

I have The Hollies Greatest Hits A's, B's and Ep's DVD, and in the Video clip of the band singing 'Baby Come Back, I only recognised to people Allan and Tony. There are 4 Hollies in the clip and there is a different Drummer instead of Bobby. Anyway he has dark hair and I've never seen him before. There is also a young guy playing the guitar and doing backing vocals who I think might be Mike Batt or Paul Bliss. It is in the early 80's sometime between Terry and Bernie leaving the band and Alan Coates joining.

Has anyone seen the clip and if so can you please tell my who the guy at the drums is and who the guy playing the guitar is as well.

Any information will be much appreciated. Thankyou in advance.

Susie

The clip you are talking about is on YOUTUBE, and as you say, the drummer is not Bobby

I would like to return to the question that is the subject of this discussion. Who´s the drummer on the video (not the promo with Bobby) but on the video from the german Schlagerbox?

A german local hero??

If only other tracks had been as well promoted.......

It's not quite "wretched," but it isn't a highlight of the group by any stretch.

From that era, the single This Is It was close to beeing hit material, if only Hicks hadn't just stolen the riff from Pat Benatar's Hit Me With Your Best Shot. I really liked the song, but every time I played it for friends, they'd just say "Pat Benatar copycat" and wouldn't take the song seriously.

So ... now Tony Hicks is a thief ? ? ? Mad

I give up. Sad
